Overview

September 18th to 19th are sizzling days, as Venus in Libra opposes Uranus Rx in Aries and makes a sextile to Mars in Sagittarius. Sudden developments in relationships or finances can be exciting and risky. There’s positive potential (and an urge to break away from the familiar) but remember that Uranus promises nothing but liberation and clarity.

On September 20th, Mercury Rx in Virgo trines Pluto Rx in Capricorn. On September 22nd, Mercury stations direct, and on September 23rd, Mercury direct trines Pluto. Mercury’s shift from Rx to direct signals progress, answers and the results of corrections. The trine to Pluto adds profound understanding and impact. Improvements can be more meaningful than you realize. Combined with the Autumn Equinox on September 22nd, this will be a significant turning point. There may be a pause as you take stock of what you’ve learned and balance that against the rest of your year. This is a finely-tuned moment – it demands precision and careful choices.

As Venus moves into Scorpio on September 23rd, the Venus/Uranus flash from Libra/Aries will set off something deeper. The initial surge of excitement/attraction can draw your attention to more demanding issues, and Mercury/Pluto will hand you the tools to deal with it.

Aries:

Aspects to Venus in your partnership sector (including the opposition to Uranus in your sign) suggest a sudden attraction to someone new and exciting. Or, an urge for freedom in an existing relationship. The Sun into your partnership sector and Venus into your sector of shared resources shifts your attention to the deeper layers of a partnership. Venus’ initial shake up would have revealed what more you wanted. Now, you’ll be looking at how to make that happen.  Also of concern: how surface dynamics reflect what goes on beneath the surface.

Mercury in your sector of routine suggests progress in a stalled work conversation, medical issue or search for answers. The fix, improvement or vital detail can finally be isolated and implemented. Analysis and careful attention to corrections can get things moving in the right direction.

Taurus:

Aspects to Venus in your sector of routine can reveal an unexpected imbalance in a partnership or work situation. Too, a health issue can receive a jolt. Fortunately, you’ll also discover untapped reserves of energy that can help you power through. The Sun into your sector of routine and Venus into your partnership sector will emphasize giving/receiving between you and a significant other. The difference between necessary obligations versus doing something to make the other person happy will come up. Fortunately, Venus will encourage cooperation and the desire to get serious about what matters. For some, Venus can introduce an intense new attraction.

Mercury in your sector of self-expression hi-lights a key issue involving artistic work, children/pregnancy or personal goals and recognition from others. Delays or questions can be resolved as you break through to a wider audience or receive confirmation. Too, it may be time to finally try out that new approach/solution that can elevate your situation.   A wider perspective, increased knowledge or enhanced education can be integrated for maximum effectiveness.

Gemini:

Aspects to Venus in your sector of self-expression can trigger a sizzling new attraction or a happy surprise in an existing relationship. Efforts to promote your work or public image can provide an unexpected breakthrough, and your one-on-one connections will offer a significant energetic boost. The Sun into your sector of self-expression and Venus into your sector of routine keep the flame of attraction or creativity burning, but now you’ll be focused on the most efficient way to move things forward. After the initial fun or splash of achievement, it’s time to get down to business. Venus suggests help from others, improved co-worker relationships and access to the strategic layers of a partnership. What can they do for you, and what are you willing to do for them?

Mercury in your domestic sector indicates progress on a home or family issue. A discussion or puzzle involving family history, domestic relationships, domestic finances or relocation can be resolved. The key will be your willingness to dig into the details and look closely at how a traditional situation can be improved.

Cancer:

Aspects to Venus in your domestic sector can shake things up with unexpected career or family developments. A new job offer, change in professional focus or sudden urge to do things differently around the home can trigger 180 degree changes in your situation. Even a positive surprise can leave you feeling a bit rattled. The Sun into your domestic sector and Venus into your sector of self-expression suggests there’s cause for celebration, or at least the need for you to integrate new sources of pleasure into your homes environment. For some, this could herald the arrival of a child.

Mercury in your communication sector can finally deliver an answer you’ve been waiting for. Too, an ongoing partnership discussion can be resolved, with the clarification of one, important detail. A missing piece of information that you’ve been digging for can emerge. Results will be dependent on your previous attention to detail and willingness to upgrade your knowledge. This influence can empower you, and your words, if you target a specific issue with relentless determination.

Leo:

Aspects to Venus in your communication sector suggest an exciting announcement, unexpected flirtation or surprising result to a distant goal you’ve been reaching for. You may feel like putting all your cards on the table/your heart on your sleeve, with an impulsive surge of risk-taking. The Sun into your communication sector and Venus into your domestic sector will bring home the results of external influences. Whether you reached out or received, you’ll be reminded how new developments will affect those closest to you, or how your private life will be impacted.

Mercury in your sector of personal security can resolve a financial or emotional issue. A financial discussion or efforts to tighten up your budget can deliver results, as you implement the most practical changes. Even if it’s taken a while for you to see the results, changes in your work or daily routine can be integrated with impressive outcomes. Your financial security and self-esteem can receive a boost if you’ve been working on what’s better/healthier for you. The most sensible solution may not be exciting, but you’ll have a chance to see how empowering it can be.

Virgo:

Aspects to Venus in your sector of personal resources can trigger the urge to splurge, or giddy moments of pleasure. The rush will be sweet, but make sure you keep an eye on your bank account, or how much you’re giving away. This applies to money and emotional energy.  Gifts, goodies and spending on minor home improvements can also grab your attention. Too, you may catch wind of a surprising source of income, or a brilliant way to boost a home business.

The Sun into your sector of personal resources and Venus into your communication sector suggest that Venus’ surprising intro can lead to much more. You may be inspired to get serious about strategic financial or emotional requests. The brief taste of sweetness can have you craving something stronger, or open your eyes to what you really deserve/are capable of. There’s more to uncover, and Mercury in your sign gets you primed with all the answers. Well, maybe not all the answers, but you’ll certainly be prepared and in control of the facts. If you want to move forward, launch something, or move on to Phase Two, this is the time. Not only will you have worked through the problem, you’ll have an added dose of confidence and can’t-miss instincts. If it feels right and you’ve identified what you want, say it/do it.

Libra:

Aspects to Venus in your sign can see you taking an uncharacteristic romantic risk, as you make the first move, or let someone know how you feel. If you’re feeling bold, go for it. The Sun into your sign and Venus into your sector of personal resources will add confidence and strategy to your next moves. You’ll be looking at how you can benefit, and if the other person recognizes your worth.

Mercury in your hidden sector flips the switch on a background issue or secret that you’ve been unclear about. If you’ve been waiting for the final piece of the puzzle, or wondering when the blanks will be filled in, wait no more. Not only will you have the inside track on private info, your instincts will be sharp. It may not be time to go public just yet, but you’ll have a clear understanding of what your next steps should be.

Scorpio:

Aspects to Venus in your hidden sector can reveal a surprising bonus, or something unexpectedly sweet. Too, something hidden may be revealed about what you want/who you’re attracted to. As the Sun enters your hidden sector and Venus enters your sign, you’ll go public (or something may come out before you’re ready). Venus into your sign gives you an edge in the attraction game – everything that comes naturally to you (magnetism, intensity, complete focus on an issue) can work in your favour.

Mercury in your social sector suggests a turning point with a friend, group, social event or social media. Watch for a long-awaited answer/conversation/announcement. You’ll be aligned with the right people, or you can release a public statement that has maximum impact. Excellent for networking or Phase Two of a public launch/promotion/project.

Sagittarius:

Aspects to Venus in your social sector can trigger an unexpected attraction, or a surprising flip from platonic to romantic. (or vice versa) All social issues will be a bit unpredictable, but the sextile to Mars in your sign gives you the confidence and enthusiasm to handle whatever comes your way. This your moment to step out and make an impression. The Sun into your social sector and Venus into your hidden sector will shift the focus somewhat, from public status to private desires. Social issues involving networking, status or professional achievement will matter less than what appeals to you on a very personal level. A relationship can develop behind the scenes.

Mercury in your career sector indicates progress around discussions with management, a job search, or upgrades to your professional skills. After much contemplation, you could arrive at a decision about your professional future, or implement improvements/solutions that enhance your earning power. You could receive an answer about a job you’ve been pursuing.

Capricorn:

Aspects to Venus in your career sector can see you fired up by hidden ambition or a private desire to gain recognition for the work you’ve done. There’s potential for rewards, but what you get may surprise you. A job offer, professional relationship or issue with your professional image may do a complete about-face. Success can hit suddenly. The Sun into your career sector and Venus into your social sector can increase your ambition, while spotlighting your public and professional relationships. Excellent for networking or deepening social contacts that will impact your success. This can be a social time, but it’s not just about fun and games.

Mercury in your opportunities sector, and its trine to Pluto in your sign, suggests significant progress. Plans or information involving travel, education, legal matters or publishing can work out to your benefit, as you finally get the intel you’ve been pushing for. Too, this can be the moment your words reach a wider audience, after delays or reviews. Your ongoing search for an answer or confirmation can finally yield results, and it will be due to your efforts to push past known or accepted solutions. You’ve been searching for more, and now you’ll find it.

Aquarius:

Aspects to Venus in your sector of opportunities can trigger an unusual attraction, or push you to make go public. The risky impulse can be sweet, and it may open up more good things. Travel, long-distance romance, education, legal matters or publishing are areas where the unexpected can work in your favour. As the Sun enters your opportunities sector and Venus moves into your career sector, you’ll be looking at how that initial impulse will fit into your future. Relationships with those in authority, or your professional image, can receive a boost.

Mercury in your sector of shared resources can uncover an answer/solution you’ve been digging for. Debts, taxes, loans, your partner’s finances, or physical/emotional intimacy can be areas where you experience a breakthrough or deeper understanding. You may be able to connect the dots in an obscure issue, or finally have that intimate conversation.

Pisces:

Aspects to Venus in your sector of shared resources can trigger a surprising moment of intimacy (or sudden sexual encounter) that rocks your stability. It may be hot but unnerving. Too, there could be a sudden urge to spend it all, but a financial opportunity may also beckon. As the Sun moves into your sector of shared resources and Venus enters your opportunities sector, you’ll be looking at how much further you can take the financial or emotional matter. Is there room for growth? There may be, but know that Uranus often acts as a catalyst, rather than a long-term influence.

Mercury in your partnership sector continues the theme of partnership potential. There may be a decision/answer about a relationship or attraction that’s been on hold. Too, a partnership discussion can be cover a lot of ground as you work out the details and plan for the future. Any decision about your love life will be based on powerful facts and a deeper understanding of what’s best for you – trust what you learn.

September 15th to 17th, 2016: Multi-Chiron

Mars in Sagittarius squares Chiron Rx on September 15th, at 22 degrees Pisces, while the Virgo Sun opposes Chiron. In a lead -up to tomorrow’s eclipse, restless actions or loss of temper can expose a sensitive spot. At the same time, the focus on flaws will be triggered. How can you make it better? You may not be able to. Some things cannot be perfectly healed. When Chiron’s involved, you’re going for awareness, acceptance and release.

The Sun will also make a hard inconjunct to Uranus Rx (23 degrees Aries) – watch for increased anxiety due to an unexpected change in direction. You may have to adjust your focus or fix.

Mars is building to an easy trine with Uranus Rx, exact on September 17th. This is when you exhale. After the initial stumble, you find your groove. This trine encourages initiative and freedom that won’t hurt anyone. However, September 17th also offers an inconjunct between Venus in Libra and Chiron Rx, so it won’t all be smooth sailing. Brief spurts of relationship/social insecurity can unbalance you. Do they like you? Is the other person happy?Pay attention to social cues, but don’t let this throw you off track .

Different Facets of Chiron

Chiron Rx in Pisces has been hit by frequently with some concentrated hard aspects, since August 1st. Transiting planets in Leo triggered inconjuncts, confronting you with appreciation versus sacrifice. The Virgo stellium opposing Chiron is jabbing the flaw or weakness. Venus in Libra (and in October, the Sun and Mercury) confronts you with personal versus transpersonal. And Mars in Sag tests your faith as you take action.

When activating a planet, point or angle in your chart, transiting Chiron reveals a key area of guilt, weakness or sensitivity. You can choose to confront and come to terms with that wound. Heal it (although a scar will remain) by feeling it. The other transits that have been activating Chiron will give you the tools. Different facets of the wound will be revealed – a multi-dimensional healing opportunity. Soft aspects (sextiles and trines) are nice opportunities to sooth what hurts, but the hard aspects grab your attention. They hurt, but with Chiron it has to hurt before you can heal.

If you have anything from 22 to 24 degrees of the Mutable signs, Chiron Rx has been triggering you.

Overview

September 12th brings an inferior conjunction of the Virgo Sun with Mercury Rx, marking the halfway point of this retrograde transit. This is also a new beginning in the Sun/Mercury cycle, since each conjunction between these two planets marks a turning point in understanding and communication. This particular point will be driven by a square from Mars in Sagittarius (squaring Mercury Rx on the 12th and the Sun on the 13th). It will likely be argumentative or irritable. But the tension will provide a breakthrough, although for some it could manifest as a peak moment of frustration. The specific (Virgo) point of conflict/misunderstanding will unlock the door to clarity. Keep in mind that Mercury is still Rx (until September 22nd) so it won’t be full steam ahead just yet. But September 12th should offer an “ah ha” moment.

On September 15th, Mars squares Chiron Rx in Pisces, and the Sun opposes Chiron. Actions can hurt. Or, you may be expected to take a leap of faith in spite of the wound. All this, and whatever Mercury Rx revealed, will feed into the September 16th Full Moon eclipse in Pisces, which will conjoin Chiron and square Mars.

This eclipse will illuminate a sore spot – nobody is a fan of Mars square Chiron. But Mars is also building to a trine with Uranus Rx in Aries (exact on September 17th) so that’s encouragement to take the leap of faith, release, or move forward. Just keep in mind that when Chiron’s activated, you’ll need to temper action/anger with compassion. There may be a sacrifice.

This eclipse also involves two awkward inconjuncts: the Sun makes an inconjunct to Uranus, and Venus in Libra makes an inconjunct to Moon/Chiron (while opposing Uranus). As I noted in my post about this eclipse:

Here’s the tension between social standards/personal relationships versus transpersonal energy. It will be necessary to balance the Pisces chaotic drift  (and vulnerabilities) with relationship issues (Libra). You can’t get lost in the pain and completely forget about your connections to others, even though the Uranus opposition suggests relationships will be shaken and stirred. Are you expected to be charming during this mess? No. But refrain from being an ass.”

Aries

Sun/Mercury Rx in your sector of routine can isolate the problem, illness, or flaw. The key area of improvement will be illuminated, and the fix/breakthrough will be driven by a leap of faith or innovative approach. Travel, education, legal or long-distance issues may be involved. As you push for more information, the eclipse (in your hidden sector) may reveal the last piece of the puzzle, or an unexpected result. Corrections, routine tasks, co-worker or health issues may be part of something larger that you didn’t anticipate. If there’s a loss or sacrifice, know that an essential new beginning is also part of the package: watch for a new health routine, new priorities, fresh approach to obligations or changes at work. Aspects to Uranus Rx in your sign insist that this can be a vital, fresh start for you, if you play your cards right.

Taurus

Sun/Mercury Rx in your sector of self-expression can hi-light a repeat conversation with a lover/previous attraction, or clarify what you really want to say. New details about a creative project or children/pregnancy can emerge as you review, correct or fine-tune. Discussions/realizations may be volatile and reveal a bit more than you anticipated. Intimacy or financial issues could be a source of conflict. All this leads up to the eclipse in your social sector, bringing public results, or concluding a chapter involving friends, groups or group activities. Everything you were hoping for may not pan out, or some sensitive issues may go public. However, these energies also urge you to put all your passion and intent behind your words – if there’s something you really want, it’s time to put yourself on the line.

Gemini

The Sun/Mercury Rx in your domestic sector can hi-light an important family conversation or crucial details involving relocation/renovations. Discussions with a partner may be edgy, but irritability is a sign that you’ve zeroed in on something that requires your attention. This may be a turning point in a domestic situation, or a chance to resolve a past/childhood issue. Things will come to a head as the eclipse hits your career sector. Family versus professional priorities may be an issue. Or, competition at work may deliver awkward results. Too, you may decide that it’s time to change your approach to authority, or change your career track altogether. You may feel pushed to react – assertiveness is required, but use caution. Your actions can have a significant impact on your professional image.

Cancer

Sun/Mercury Rx in your communication sector can trigger an argument or stressful realization, based on a past issue, or something you’re reviewing. But the tension will provide the necessary motivation to speak out or implement a correction. A crucial piece of information may involve an old flaw, discrepancy, or medical issue. Conversations/realizations will feed into the culmination of the eclipse, in your opportunities sector. Watch for an announcement or official transition, involving travel, education, legal matters or publishing. It may be time to learn more, or reap the results of what you have learned. You may also learn that the grass on the other side is not as green as you thought, as you experience disappointment or vulnerability after venturing into new territory. There may be a call for difficult medical decisions, or compassionate responses in the face of the legal, moral or ethical challenges.

Leo

Sun/Mercury Rx in your sector of personal resources can trigger financial conflicts, or stressful moments as you confront old expenses/spending habits. A review of what you have versus what you want (on a material or emotional level) may be pushed on you, or initiated by you. Either way, the potential to make a fresh start by implementing new habits is invaluable. Revisiting a salary discussion can be frustrating, but ultimately fruitful. This leads into the eclipse, hitting your sector of shared resources. A conclusion may involve debts, taxes, loans, your partner’s finances, or physical/emotional intimacy. A lack of something, or impulsive financial/sexual reactions can leave you exposed. On the other hand, you may decide that the current situation will never satisfy your needs.

Virgo

The Sun/Mercury Rx in your sign can motivate you to change course, address a longstanding personal issue, or implement an upgrade that you’ve been putting off. Too, you could encounter someone from your past, or a childhood issue. The vibe will be tense, but the discomfort will motivate you to wrap things up or express yourself differently. There could also be a breakthrough around a domestic or family issue that’s been on hold. Answers will feed into the eclipse, activating your relationship sector. Culminations could include turning-point relationship discussions and realizations, with sensitive issues abruptly uncovered. An ending or move to a new relationship chapter could involve a painful point of conflict, or uneven efforts to correct, improve, progress. Uncomfortable financial/relationship issues may come to light, and the time will be ripe to address them. This won’t be a neat and tidy eclipse, but you’ll find a way through if (just this once) you allow yourself to work with moments of uncertainty.

Libra

The Sun/Mercury Rx in your hidden sector can trigger an “ah ha” moment, as public arguments/anger connect to private realizations. This is the time to connect the dots and understand what’s really driving a scenario. This will add fuel to the eclipse in your sector of routine, which will bring results involving medical issues, co-worker relationships, obligations or work tasks. A solution, fix or workaround can appear in odd or unexpected ways. Too, an issue that’s been overlooked may trigger painful realizations. Healing and service to others may be combined with intensified awareness of your own discomfort, as a verbal confrontation hits a sore point. Aspects to Venus in your sign will make you aware that personal freedom always has a cost, but it’s far greater if you’ve been denying your true purpose or needs.

Scorpio

The Sun/Mercury Rx in your social sector suggests crucial information involving friends, groups, the public/your place in the public, or group activities. Revisiting a past discussion, asking again, or dealing with someone from the past can finally yield an answer, although the trigger may be an argument or edgy observation. As the eclipse lights up your sector of self-expression, the above information can lead to an announcement, public launch, or start of a new attraction. What you want most, and your creative/romantic power, will be in the spotlight, but so will your insecurities. Ambition will drive you to make your mark, but be prepared for uneasy moments as the spotlight reveals everything. On the other hand, this eclipse could be about you overcoming a fear or doubt, as you blast through reasons why you’re not “good enough.”

Sagittarius

The Sun/Mercury Rx in your career sector suggests a significant conversation with someone in authority, or crucial information regarding a past job/position, or business opportunity. You may get a second chance, or discover an error that could have a significant impact on your professional reputation. The square to Mars in your sign indicates that you’ll be pushing for results/answers, or you’ll be challenged by someone to step up and provide a solution. The eclipse in your domestic sector can finalize things by closing the door on the past, or revealing something previously obscured that’s been sitting right under your nose. Family issues, relocation, or a home business can reach a culmination, and Mars in your sign ensures that momentum will carry you forward. This should be an active time for you, whether you’re actively releasing or starting a new chapter. Hurts/sensitivities from the past can be confronted and laid to rest.

Capricorn

The Sun/Mercury Rx in your opportunities sector can trigger a surprising piece of news involving travel, education, legal matters or publishing. Too, a message from someone at a distance (and/or from the past) can arrive. Adjustments/corrections to plans, legal documents or big picture goals can catch you off guard, and attempted actions may fizzle. However, know that you’re still being clued into something valuable. The eclipse in your sector of communication can top it off with an answer, final document, turning-point conversation or signature. Background issues/anger may be involved, as well as unforeseen reactions. Avoid the temptation to strike out or overreact; motivations may not be totally clear.

Aquarius

The Sun/Mercury Rx in your sector of shared resources indicates a passionate or volatile conversation/realization, involving debts, taxes, loans, your partner’s finances or physical/emotional intimacy. An external challenge may trigger the private discussion or deep realization. Hidden information can be uncovered. The eclipse in your sector of personal resources can hi-light what you thought you needed, or what you felt compelled to fight for. Money, emotional connections or self-esteem can be the source of competition or anger, but consider if what you’re fighting for is really essential. Chiron’s influence suggests the need to release or sacrifice something to gain something better. Too, you could realize that false attachments have been hurting more than helping.

Pisces

The Sun/Mercury Rx in your relationship sector indicates a turning point in a discussion with a past or current partner. Or, your observations about a relationship/attraction can present a key piece of the puzzle. Triggers may involve aggressive demands or challenges, in a personal or professional context. You may feel pushed against your will, but the friction will result in clarity as you’re forced to look closely at a detail or promise. The eclipse in your sign brings the resolution. Whether there’s an ending, new chapter, or entire new relationship, you’ll be woking through some sensitive issues of your own, while coming to terms with uncomfortable feelings of anger, aggression or competition. Tense aspects from Venus can illuminate an imbalance in financial or intimacy issues: you may have to let go of something to restore that balance.

Jupiter’s Transit of Libra: Pretty Ideals

Jupiter’s Libra ingress happens on September 9th. The planet of optimism and faith, in the sign of relationships and social grace, will whip up a frothy confection of social ideals. Libra likes everything to be pretty, and Jupiter’s shot of expansion will probably create some exaggerated displays of romance and rosy appearances. There are benefits to this – celebrations, increased sociability, marriage proposals and fun with the social dance. Jupiter in an Air sign can buoy you up and up, which will be a nice antidote to heavy times.

Jupiter’s tendency to exaggerate can also tip the Libra balance, so it will be easy to overdo the people-pleasing bit. If there are real problems in a relationship, you may gloss over them. Fine for this transit, but watch out when Jupiter enters Scorpio. The point is, this should be an enjoyable transit, but don’t ignore any simmering issues. This is prime time to address the difficult stuff, because compromise will be encouraged.

Fairness, ethics and honesty will be big deals. But whether these things are enhanced or falsified is another story. Jupiter expands everything, so if there is potential for half-truths, shallowness, denial and philandering, that could be a problem. It may not be visible right away, because Jupiter will crank up Libra’s gloss, so you’re blinded by the shine of the “perfect” relationship or partner. But if you’re starting off with honesty and the highest intentions, Jupiter will make it easy for you. Easy to be fair and impartial. Easy to see where the other person is coming from.

Use this time to increase your objective awareness. How do your wants line up with your partner/potential partner? How does your behaviour impact others? Jupiter can give you perspective, allowing you to step back from what you’ve been projecting (or what’s been projected on to you). You could gain a whole new appreciation of the social dance, while having a bit of fun.

A few words about Jupiter’s “promises”: there are none. It’s become almost taboo to suggest that a Jupiter transit might bring something good, because some people experience nothing, or they get hit with ugly events. Then they read about Jupiter’s positives, and they feel betrayed.

There are two things to be aware of:

1) Jupiter brings potential, not guarantees. This transit can bring social (Libra) growth and exploration (Jupiter). Big relationships. Expansion of an existing relationship. If you’re stuck in a negative mindset, you will miss this potential. If you refuse to change anything about the way you relate to others, you will miss this potential.

2) Jupiter can expand negative issues. Sorry – it happens. If something blows up during a Jupiter transit, it’s not because you were cheated. It’s just Jupiter. And, there are always other transits in play.

Jupiter will leave Libra for Scorpio on October 10th, 2017.
