Mars finally exits Sagittarius for Capricorn on September 27th. Mars has been in Sag more or less since March 5th, 2016 (barring his Rx dip back into Scorpio). That’s a long time to fan the flames of journeys, faith and beliefs. Well, that crusade is over.

Mars does well in Capricorn. He’s exalted  – energy and action are focused. Capricorn disciplines Mars’ raw initiative. This is the “act to make it real” transit. Work, move forward, climb. Slow and steady, but not stagnant. Capricorn is a Cardinal sign, so progress is demanded. And what better planet for progress than Mars?

Faith has been explored. Now it’s about working to make it real. There’s no sentiment, only determination. Control your impulses, corral your anger, and get on with it. If you’ve been burned, Mars in Capricorn is your chance to forge something new. Keep climbing, and don’t look back. If your faith was rewarded, you can build on that. Either way, this transit is about patient ambition and cautious initiative.

Adding to this transit’s potential, Pluto stations direct in Capricorn on September 26th, at 14 degrees. Rx since April 18th, 2016, Pluto’s forward movement tells us that the next chapter in transformation has arrived. Lingering fears and resistance have been churned up and destroyed. Pluto direct, one day before Mars’ Capricorn ingress, means progress. The October 19th conjunction between Pluto and Mars will be significant, as unconscious desires/the evolutionary current (Pluto) meet conscious desires (Mars). Mars acts out what Pluto stirs up.

The Capricorn area of your chart is where you can make visible progress, under these influences. Physical change. There’s always potential for things to go awry, especially when Mars and Pluto meet (destructive anger, violence). These things can become visible as well. So stay conscious of what’s emerging, and how you use your energy. Think “construction” rather than “destruction.”

Here are the aspects Mars in Capricorn will make:

  • Sep 30th: trine Ceres Rx in Taurus, 2 deg
  • Oct 5th: square Jupiter in Libra, 5 deg
  • Oct 11th: sextile Neptune Rx in Pisces, 9 deg
  • Oct 13th: square Mercury in Libra, 11 deg
  • Oct 15th: trine North Node in Virgo, 12 deg
  • Oct 19th: conjunct Pluto, 15 deg
  • Oct 22nd: sextile Black Moon Lilith in Scorpio, 17 deg
  • Oct 27th: sextile Chiron Rx in Pisces, 21 deg
  • Oct 29th: square Uranus Rx in Aries, 21 deg
  • Nov 2nd: square Ceres Rx in Aries, 25 deg
  • Nov 9th: Aquarius ingress

Horoscopes for September 25th to October 2nd, 2016

Overview

September 26th sees a fortuitous union between the Sun and Jupiter in Libra, which points to developments during September 30th’s New Moon in Libra. Jupiter’s influence increases hopes, future possibilities and goodwill. Nothing is set in stone at this point, but it can certainly feel good. Social aspects (platonic and romantic) should receive the most significant impact, so use this week to reach out and see what others have to offer. Increased receptivity and cooperation can create progress in an area that you wouldn’t usually consider. Note that this Moon features a questionable inconjunct to Neptune Rx, so there is a risk of overestimating. But there’s also a nice sextile to Saturn in Sagittarius, lending support to realistic efforts.

September 26th also sees Pluto in Capricorn stationing direct, and September 27th marks Mars’ Capricorn ingress. Forward movement of Pluto’s total metamorphosis, combined with Mars’ immediate actions, mean significant progress. Mars is the visible manifestation (via initiative, effort, passion or anger) of Pluto’s evolution, and Capricorn gives this energy structure and focus. Train your sights in the right direction and apply sustained effort.

Note the disparity between Jupiter/Libra’s buoyancy and Pluto/Mars/Capricorn’s more solitary, serious vibe. One may be favoured over the other, depending on your situation.  But ideally, a blend of both (social optimism underpinned with grounded focus) will deliver maximum results.

Aries

Sun/Jupiter and the New Moon in your partnership sector can open up possibilities in a one-on-one relationship. A romantic or business partnership can start off on a buoyant note, with big hopes for the future. Or, an existing relationship can move in a positive, growth-oriented direction.

Pluto direct and Mars into your career sector see you primed for decisive action. They will assist you with authority, whether you’re exercising it or dealing with someone else’s. You’ll feel more in control of your future goals, your current job or job search. A new job may demand that you step up with full assertiveness and initiative.

Taurus

Sun/Jupiter and the New Moon in your sector of routine can bring more work, but also a positive spin on how to handle your obligations. Co-worker relationships can improve, or new work dynamics can open your eyes to fresh possibilities. Watch for improved cooperation in your daily work routines. New health regimes or medical information can be positive, or at least increase your enthusiasm for self-improvement.

Pluto direct and Mars into your sector of opportunities will increase your confidence and motivation to step into new territory. If you’re feeling the urge to explore, go for it. Travel, education, legal matters or publishing are areas where your efforts to take control can pay dividends. In some cases, Pluto direct can mark significant progress in the depth of your knowledge/understanding.

Gemini

Sun/Jupiter and the New Moon in your sector of self-expression can be uplifting and exciting. New romance or opportunities to play/celebrate/create are possibilities. You’ll be ready to enjoy yourself to the max, or take a risk that you normally wouldn’t consider. There’s potential to create something that lasts (especially if a relationship is involved) but make sure you don’t overdo it in the moment. Save something for later.

Pluto direct and Mars into your sector of shared resources can help you get a grip on money issues (debts, taxes, loans, your partner’s finances).  A debt could be paid off, or you could reach the point where you’re ready to confront financial issues. Physical/emotional intimacy can be hot and/or demanding, as uncomfortable topics are confronted and limits are explored. These influences urge decisive action and a fearless approach to what’s hidden.

Cancer

Sun/Jupiter and the New Moon in your domestic sector can open up an expansive new chapter in your home and family life. Additions to the family, a bigger home, home improvements or improved family relationships are possibilities. These influences can expand your sense of security or give you more to build your foundation on.

Pluto direct and Mars into your partnership sector can increase competition and/or signal progress in a relationship. Ongoing changes with a partner can move to the next level, and a decisive push (or disagreement) may get the ball rolling. Challenges, arguments or confrontations can be constructive, as they motivate you and your partner to move forward. A new business partnership that begins around this time should feature tons of dynamic energy.

Leo

Sun/Jupiter and the New Moon in your communication sector put you in the path of good news or fortuitous contacts. Too, if you want to convince, sell or impress, now’s the time to say it/write it. A contract, conversation or agreement could lead to much more, but be wary of promises with no substance.

Pluto direct and Mars into your sector of routine can increase your workload/responsibilities, but also your motivation and focus. You may be asked to bring maximum effort to your work routine. Too, a change in your work environment could be triggered, as you move on to something different. Any changes will be part of Pluto’s long-term plan to put you in a situation where you feel vital and energized. Developments with health/diet/medical issues will feature a strong emphasis on physical transformation, increased discipline and the need to initiate improvements.

Virgo

Sun/Jupiter and the New Moon in your sector of personal resources can give you more to work with, financially or emotionally. There could be an opportunity to earn more, raise your rates, or increase your self-esteem. Watch for a new opportunity that suggests future abundance.

Pluto direct and Mars into your sector of self-expression can trigger increased determination to reach a personal goal, be it romantic or creative. Artistic work, new romance or issues involving children/pregnancy can see progress, but this will be due to your focus and initiative. Pluto and Mars urge you to act like you really want it to happen.

Libra

Sun/Jupiter and the New Moon in your sign can increase your optimism and sense of future possibilities. Relationships, career or public identity can receive a boost as you start something new. This doesn’t have to be dramatic – it could simply be a sense that now’s the time to freshen up your appearance or lifestyle so you can put your best self forward. Any new social or professional opportunities that come your way now are worth looking into.

Pluto direct and Mars into your domestic sector can see you moving house, making changes to your domestic situation or overhauling your life from the ground up. Action and efforts will be aimed at digging up what’s been buried, or what’s no longer supporting your foundation.

Scorpio

Sun/Jupiter and the New Moon in your hidden sector suggest something fermenting in the background. A glimpse of future possibilities, or a sense of more to come, can unfold quietly. The time is not yet ripe to act on this, but don’t disregard the whisper, hint or dream. Too, hidden developments or unseen benefits can work in your favour.

Pluto direct and Mars into your communication sector can uncover some vital information, or push you to speak up about an issue that’s been simmering for awhile. Watch for an increased sense of determination, assertiveness or anger, about what you want to communicate. If there is anger, try to focus your energy on getting your point across rather than attacking someone else. Relationships with siblings can experience a flare up.

Sagittarius

Sun/Jupiter and the New Moon in your social sector open a positive door regarding friendships, group activities or your public image. Excellent for a launch, promotion, celebration or just getting out and enjoying time with others. Public beginnings hold the potential for quick growth and positive impact on others, and the supportive aspect to Saturn in your sign gives you the ability to make a lasting impression.

Pluto direct and Mars into your sector of personal resources urge you to take control of your financial or emotional security, if you haven’t done so already. Now is the moment to implement new plans involving saving or earning – if you want something, your actions have to reflect your goal. Discipline, focus and sustained effort are called for, and this is applicable to emotional gains as well.

Capricorn

Sun/Jupiter and the New Moon in your career sector can open professional doors for you, boost your business relationships, or present a lucrative career opportunity. Watch for new possibilities in your current job, a new job, or in the direction you want to take your career. Excellent for a business launch, networking, or meeting with management.

Pluto direct and Mars into your sign put you in the driver’s seat. You’ve got ambition, energy and control on your side, especially if Pluto direct presents a significant breakthrough. Combined with the New Moon, this week is a fantastic time to launch a new lifestyle initiative, or get back on track with an exercise/diet regime.

Aquarius

Sun/Jupiter and the New Moon in your sector of opportunities can present something new and untested in the areas of travel, education, legal matters, publishing or exploration. This is your moment to step out and take a chance in a brand new area. Something as simple as taking a course (on a whim) or trying a new restaurant could lead to much more.

Pluto direct and Mars into your hidden sector can stoke the fires of a background ambition or larger life change. The currents of transformation have been circulating for a while, but the outcome may not be visible just yet. Nonetheless, you know something’s shifting. Trust this, and allow Mars to trigger your instincts about what’s next.

Pisces

Sun/Jupiter and the New Moon in your sector of shared resources can lead to expansive moments of intimacy, or financial assistance. You could discover more in a relationship or financial situation, but the inconjunct to Neptune Rx in your sign advises a bit of caution: there’s also a risk of overestimating what someone wants to give, or what you’re able to spend. Use extra caution when dealing with debts, taxes, loans or your partner’s finances. Allow things to develop without pinning all your hopes on one area.

Pluto direct and Mars into your social sector can trigger changes/conflict in a friendship or group situation. Public ambitions could be fired up, and you may find that you’re pushed to react or compete. Too, these influences are good for addressing public concerns or making a social impact.

Venus’ Transit of Scorpio: Beauty of the Coiled Truth

Venus enters Scorpio on September 23rd. Relationships, values, self-esteem and financial issues get real, as truths are exposed with unblinking passion. But this transit is not just about the intense desire to possess. Venus in Scorpio’s intensity comes from in-depth exploration – going beneath the surface to understand the truth of the attraction. Why is this relationship satisfying/not satisfying? Why do you want this person or item? How far can you push this attraction? She is the beauty in what many consider ugly, frightening or forbidden.

Virgo is the sign of intellectual analysis, but Scorpio is instinctive analysis.

True intimacy happens when limits are crossed, in a healthy, empowering way. Venus in Scorpio achieves value with this intimacy, and when she is involved with people that contribute to her security and transformation. Venus wants to be secure in this sign, but she is confronted with the Scorpio push to evolve. Slow, powerful change versus the focus on absolute control creates a point of tension. Do you remain stuck in the obsession, which is the illusion of control (habitual monitoring of another person)? Or do you take a deep breath and dive, pushing past the pain of rejection, abandonment and vulnerability? Venus in Scorpio’s power (her true power) comes from her fearless exposure of the desire that waits patiently in the shadows.

You may simply experience a steamy attraction with this transit. It doesn’t have to be a life-changing influence. Or, you may be more inclined to expose the real you, because it feels sexy and powerful. But the base dynamics will be same: intensity through access to the truth that lies coiled at the heart of the issue.

Venus’ Scorpio ingress will happen one day after the Sun enters Venus-ruled Libra, and Mercury stations direct in Virgo. The strategic energy around the Fall Equinox will be intensified with Venus in Scorpio. She’ll be resonating on two levels, simultaneously: surface relationships/balance/harvest (Sun in Libra) and what’s beneath the surface. With Mercury direct for an added shot of analysis.

So many layers to be revealed. You can learn some rich, fascinating details about yourself and/or another. This may go back to August 29th, when Venus conjoined Mercury in Virgo, and Venus entered Libra. Check this post for a review of that day.

Here are the aspects Venus in Scorpio will make:

Excerpt from my latest Sasstrology post:

If you’re into someone with Venus in Cancer, know that you’ll be dealing with a mother and child. She can be incredibly tender, loving and empathetic, intuiting your most basic needs. But before you can access her empathy, you must convince her inner child that you’re safe.”
