Mars’ Transit of Gemini: The Juggler

Fritz Beinke

Fritz Beinke

Mars enters Gemini on April 21s (6:31 AM EDT).  Choices and information are energized. Actions may become scattered, as multiple options get fired up. New layers will be uncovered, and things can become more complicated. Passions will fluctuate, as A, B (and possibly C) grab your attention. This transit is excellent for triggering fresh ideas. You can break out of a rut and try something new, just because. Gemini’s reasons are multitude – pick some!

Mars in Gemini will be in mutual reception with Mercury in Aries until May 16th, so the urge to speak out/argue impulsively will be pronounced. Mars will help Mercury Rx in Aries by adding new motivation to an old situation. There’s more life in that idea, conversation or contact. Watch for a surge of enthusiasm or anger that revives things. If it didn’t work before, you can say it differently this time.

Focus will be compromised and speed will increase. Situations can come and go in the blink of an eye, and much of what flashes by may be distracting. Something new and intriguing may not last, but it could be fun. And, it could lead to something important in the future. Stay open to what’s new, but don’t tighten your grip on anything just yet. If additional complications emerge, remain flexible; Mars in Gemini will ask that you juggle at least two possibilities.

Here are the aspects Mars in Gemini will make:

  • Apr 23rd: square the North Node in Virgo/South Node in Pisces (1 deg)
  • May 4th: opposite Black Moon Lilith in Sagittarius (8 deg)
  • May 11th: square Neptune in Pisces (13 deg)
  • May 12th: trine Jupiter Rx in Libra (14 deg)
  • May 14th: sextile Pallas in Aries (15 deg)
  • May 17th: inconjunct Juno Rx in Capricorn (18 deg)
  • May 19th: inconjunct Pluto Rx in Capricorn (19 deg)
  • May 29th: opposite Saturn Rx in Sagittarius (25 deg)
  • May 30th: sextile Uranus in Aries (26 deg)
  • May 31st: trine the South Node in Aquarius (27 deg)
  • Jun 2nd: square Chiron in Pisces (28 deg)
  • Jun 4th: Cancer ingress

New Moon in Taurus: This Is For You

The April 26th New Moon (6 degrees Taurus) is self-contained, as it makes no major aspects. This perfectly describes the Taurus energy of self-sufficiency. Which means you can use it to stabilize an area of your life.

New Moons are ideal times to start something. In Taurus, it would make sense to work on personal resources – money, self-esteem, values, your garden (spring planting). Earthy Taurus beginnings are simple, solid and real. Growth will be slow, so this should be something you’re prepared to nurture over the long haul.

There may be a connection to the April 20th conjunction between Mercury Rx and Sun , which was also a new beginning (based on the review of previous ideas).

There’s nothing complicated about this Moon. It’s quiet – an island in the midst of other, more tangled influences. If you’re feeling lost or helpless, this New Moon can be your place to start something you have control over. Taurus is all about you. This should be something that makes you feel good (not deprived) because you’ll be living with it for a long time.

Ideally, what you start should gradually increase in value and enhance your security. If you’re working on self-esteem/personal values, try using a physical prompt – something you can ground yourself in.

If you’re setting New Moon intentions, keep these key words in mind:

  • patient
  • fertile
  • tangible
  • comfortable
  • valuable

Overview

The Sun enters Taurus on April 19th, ushering in the season of values, survival and physical abundance. Taurus is about what you can touch and rely on – the existing resources that you grow.

This Taurus season is defined by an inferior conjunction between the Sun and Mercury Rx (April 20th). Although Mercury is retrograde, this conjunction is a new beginning in the Sun/Mercury cycle. Reviewing/revisiting can reveal new resources that you weren’t aware of. Adding emphasis, Pluto stations Rx in Capricorn on the same day. The plow of reconstruction (or in some cases, destruction) digs deeper when it moves in reverse. Transformation is intensified.

Also on April 20th (this is a big day)….

Mercury Rx retreats into Aries a few hours after it conjoins the Sun. New insight that you unearth can be applied to an initial impulse/conversation that first sparked around March 30th.

Mars (ruler of Aries) enters Gemini (ruled by Mercury) on April 21st, and the two planets resonate with each other. Mars into Gemini triggers new choices/facts/discussions, and this can fuel Mercury Rx in Aries. An issue that you thought was dead may be revived. This can be good or bad, depending on the issue. Either way, you’ll benefit if you tackle it from a different angle. However, also on April 21st we have the final square between Venus in Pisces and Saturn Rx in Sag. So you will be dealing with painful limits that have been around since April 8th. After April 21st, the square will dissipate, and the issue involving love/money/self-esteem should diminish. Or at least, you’ll have accepted what you can’t have and what you must work with.

Know that Saturn will continue to square Chiron in Pisces until April 30th, so you may have to continue dealing with the core wound until the end of the month. This issue probably has a few layers, and Venus’ departure means you’ll have worked through one layer. April 30th is not so far away; you’re almost there.

A Saturn/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn will take place in January, 2020. This is the big league- we’re talking seismic shifts in power and complete deconstruction of certain traditions. Interested in knowing how it might impact you? Check out my PDF download

Aries

The Sun and Mercury Rx in your sector of personal resources introduces a lucrative conversation or piece of information. Mercury Rx has urged you to review finances and personal values. Now you can come to an understanding that will be crucial to your future security. As Mercury backs into your sign, get ready to reinvigorate a previous idea, or have that discussion one more time. There’s still life in an old issue. Pluto Rx adds revised career goals to the mix – professional status, ambitions or your job description are still under construction.

Mars into your communication sector supports Mercury Rx in your sign. If you’ve been lacking the initiative to say it/write it, your passion will be reignited. Any increase in the amount of communication (brief conversations, emails, phone calls) is meant to fire up a previous topic of discussion. However, Venus/Saturn will confront you with an ending or limited expansion in one area. A specific part of the dream, and associated disappointment, must be attended to. Clear that away and you can move forward with the rest of your life.

Taurus

The Sun and Mercury Rx in your sign can clarify what recent delays or reversals have been all about. You can unearth valuable insight about your public image, physical appearance or personal goals. Watch for a new sense of what you need to focus on – your approach may change or intensify. A conversation may trigger enhanced personal insight.  But it won’t be time to charge ahead just yet. Mercury’s retreat to your hidden sector suggests pulling back to think it through. Perhaps you need to reassess the initial impulse that started you down this path. Pluto Rx also sees you reconsidering issues around travel, education, legal matters or publishing.

Mars into your sector of personal resources supports Mercury Rx in your hidden sector by giving you a sharper sense of what you need, and what you can release. Your intuition about earned money and personal values will be activated, along with increased initiative to take action- but this will be action that only happens after you thoroughly consider your options. A previous approach/idea may require more energy. Venus/Saturn keeps the pressure on, as you continue to deal with private obligations versus public image (or friendships). The facts around a relationship limit, or lack of money, won’t change. But you can take responsibility for your part in this reality and choose to let go of what’s already ended.

Gemini

The Sun and Mercury Rx in your hidden sector will open your eyes, but this will happen on an internal level. Confusing issues or frustrating losses can make sense, although the dots will be connected in a non-linear fashion. Go with the gut feeling that tells you this is the truth. Mercury’s return to your social sector can see you revisiting a friendship, group association or public issue. This time, you’ll have added insight, and background facts. Make use of hidden information or your intuition. Pluto Rx may be less obvious, with subtle shifts in an intimate relationship, or your relationship to shared resources (including money).

Mars into your sign supports Mercury Rx in your social sector, giving you a more upfront approach to people and discussions. There may be one area where you feel confident enough to choose or demand – you can assert yourself, or approach an old issue with decisiveness. Venus/Saturn can close a chapter in a work and/or personal relationship as you acknowledge a conflict in goals or responsibilities. You may feel that your future is currently defined by what you can’t have, but know that you are turning a corner.

Cancer

The Sun and Mercury Rx in your social sector hi-light a key issue in group dynamics, a friendship or your relationship with the collective. Delays, changes in plans or reconnecting with someone from your past can gift you with fresh insight. This can help you uncover something of value in your public relationships. Mercury’s return to your career sector will be the time to apply this knowledge to your professional goals and ambitions. A job search or business can benefit from another try. This time, you’ll have more facts at your disposal. Pluto Rx in your relationship sector intensifies transformations between you and another – your status as partner, or how you approach partnerships in general, is slowly being redefined. This part of the process involves digging more deeply into issues that may be resistant to change.

Mars into your hidden sector supports Mercury Rx in your career sector, and you may have to back off or slow down to see the full benefits. Direct action will be difficult, so focus on energizing a background/undeveloped project. It’s not quite time to launch, but it is time to prepare. Allowing is key- some results will flow right into your life, but others will continue to elude you. You can’t force anything, so work with what brings you deeper satisfaction. Alone time can be your most productive time. Venus/Saturn can bring the results of your work or struggles to expand. Favourable results involving travel, education, long-distance romance, legal matters, publishing or a distant dream can manifest if you’ve applied yourself diligently. However, the results may not be everything you’ve hoped for. Or, you may discover that this dream is simply not viable. Either way, you’re moving on now.

Leo

The Sun and Mercury Rx in your career sector suggest a turning point, as you redefine your goals, professional image or connection to someone in authority. A conversation with management, or a professional contact from the past, can open your eyes to what has real value in your career, and what’s keeping you stuck. Delays in a job search or promotion suggest a reassessment is in order. Armed with this knowledge, Mercury Rx’s return to your sector of opportunities can help you get more from issues involving travel, education, legal matters or publishing. It may be time to reapply a new idea in a different way, or revisit a previous opportunity. Pluto Rx in your sector of routine works at the ground level by ferreting out any outdated health/work habits that are due for a change.

Mars into your social sector supports Mercury Rx in your opportunities sector by putting you in touch with a wide variety of folks. New contacts or a new audience can be energized by a return to previous ideals. This time you can grab people’s attention with your renewed faith. Venus/Saturn signals the final limit around a financial or relationship matter. The reminders of what you can’t have, or what you’re missing, have been tough. But you’re approaching the finish line now, and even if you’ve had to accept a loss or humbling moment, you’re clearing away energy-draining distractions. Soon you’ll be free to focus on what has true potential.

Virgo

The Sun and Mercury Rx in your opportunities sector see you looking carefully at issues involving travel, education, legal matters or publishing. If your reach, or your faith, has been cramped, this influence suggests delays can help you reassess your path forward. But before you go any further, Mercury’s retreat to your sector of shared resources asks you to go deeper. You may have to revisit a financial or emotional issue, or perhaps a deeply-rooted fear/insecurity. It may be time for an uncomfortably honest conversation. Pluto Rx in your sector of self-expression urges you to focus on what you really want. This means intensifying your efforts to put your best self out there, to create, or to take your special purpose seriously.

Mars into your career sector supports Mercury Rx in your sector of shared resources – as you dig deeper or look more closely at the uncomfortable issues, you can energize new career goals/contacts. The courage to put yourself out there while taking an honest inventory of what’s going on behind the scenes is a potent combination. Meanwhile, Venus/Saturn indicates a final challenge in relationships and domestic issues. Dealing with your responsibilities, and saying goodbye to someone (or, to an undermining relationship projection/anxiety) will ultimately be freeing.

Libra

The Sun and Mercury Rx in your sector of shared resources suggest an intimate conversation or deep realization about finances/relationships. Research or uncomfortable observations may uncover sensitive issues, but you can also be alerted to more resources. Debts, taxes, loans or your partner’s finances are areas where you could gain clarity, and Mercury Rx’s return to your relationship sector sees you applying this knowledge to issues of balance- who has a greater say in what’s owed or shared? Pluto Rx in your domestic sector suggests delays, or revisions involving relocation, home construction, a home business or family issues. Going back is necessary to ensure that the last traces of the past have been deconstructed.

Mars into your sector of opportunities supports Mercury Rx in your partnership sector by triggering new ideas and approaches to an old problem. While you may be revisiting an issue, you can source new information, or broaden your perspective – there’s more out there. Travel, education, legal matters or publishing are areas where you can initiate something hopeful. Venus/Saturn marks the finish line for one portion of a stressful work or health issue. Part of your obligation is almost completed.

Scorpio

The Sun and Mercury Rx in your relationship sector suggest a key conversation with a partner. You may be revisiting an issue, but what you learn this time will mark a new chapter between you. Commitment, stability and the balance of resources may be themes. Mercury Rx back into your sector of routine indicates a second look at your responsibilities/health/routines, based on what you discussed with your partner. Areas of inequality will be hi-lighted. Pluto Rx in your communication sector can also push you to look back at a major promise or verbal commitment – was it authentic, and are you being listened to?

Mars into your sector of shared resources supports Mercury Rx in your sector of routine. Shared finances and intimacy will be energized, and conflict may be part of the process. As unacknowledged or repressed issues are churned up, you’ll have the energy and initiative to apply solutions. A lingering block or resentment can finally be addressed. Venus/Saturn symbolizes the final stretch in a frustrating matter involving new romance, children/pregnancy, or creative work. Lack of success, recognition or support has urged you to fall back on your own resources. Any achievement will result from your acceptance of certain limits and responsibilities, and that includes an acceptance that certain things are not meant to be. A partial reward/success is a possibility.

Sagittarius

The Sun and Mercury Rx in your sector of routine clue you into a solution for an existing problem. Work or health can benefit if you slow down and pay attention to some basic facts that are in front of you. As Mercury Rx backs into your sector of self-expression, you can approach issues involving children, creative work or new romance with a practical eye. Pluto Rx in your sector of personal resources can dig up past issues of dependency, self-esteem or earned money. You’re still redefining what security means to you, while cutting ties with what used to prop you up.

Mars into your relationship sector supports Mercury Rx in your sector of self-expression. An existing relationship can be reinvigorated, or a new attraction may accelerate. The other person may initiate, but this will be based on your willingness to confront an existing issue with passion and fresh perspective. This is the time to shake up your approach to relationships. All one-on-one connections (platonic and romantic) can experience a surge of renewed energy. Reaching out to previous clients/contacts is also supported. Venus square Saturn Rx in your sign suggests the weight of personal/domestic responsibilities is about to shift. By now, you should have a clear understanding of what needs to be done, and what needs to be excised. Family issues, a home business or cosmetic home improvements can be completed, while you draw a line between the past and present.

Capricorn

The Sun and Mercury Rx in your sector of self-expression suggest new awareness about what you want, or what you’re trying to create. Artistic work, new attractions or issues involving children/pregnancy can benefit from fresh input/conversations that reveal the value of what you desire, and what you’re doing to achieve it. Mercury Rx’s move back into your domestic sector reconnects you with past family issues, or puts current family discussions into fresh context. In order to create something new, you’ll have to approach that old discussion about traditions/inheritance in a new way. Pluto Rx in your sign can help if you’re stuck in old patterns. A longstanding rule is in the process of being broken.

Mars into your sector of routine supports Mercury Rx in your domestic sector, by gifting you with fresh initiative. There will be new projects to tackle, more work and more responsibilities. But you’ll have the drive to take it all on, and you’ll have access to improvements/solutions that can benefit an existing family issue. A forceful upgrade may be needed, and you’re just the person to deliver it. Venus/Saturn says a painful goodbye/release is almost over. As you’re confronted with one, last memory/discussion, know that today’s limits (including your personal boundaries) are defining your future path. An official document or binding promise may be involved.

Aquarius

The Sun and Mercury Rx in your domestic sector can reveal new info about a family issue, or family history. Too, you could come to a decision about your home, relocating, or your role in the family. As Mercury Rx returns to your communication sector, this new insight will add fuel to a previous conversation. You can revisit a topic with a deeper understanding of what’s most essential for you. Pluto Rx in your hidden sector may be so subtle that you barely feel it. However, know that a process of behind-the-scenes transformation is intensifying. Pluto Rx may disprove a stubborn illusion – it’s time to break down a false structure that’s been propping you up.

Mars into your sector of self-expression supports Mercury Rx in your communication sector with a surge of confidence. You’ll be ready to initiate, pursue or walk your talk. Whether a new attraction or subject close to your heart has ignited your passion, you’ll want others to know where you stand. Excellent for grabbing attention or making a creative public statement. Venus/Saturn draws a line underneath financial or emotional strain. A shortfall or sense of loneliness may not be completely resolved (you might still have to do without) but the intensity should decrease as you implement coping strategies. Boundaries, especially involving friends or groups, need to be put in place.

Pisces

The Sun and Mercury Rx in your communication sector suggest you can get more value if you ask again, renegotiate, or reconsider your options. A change in plans can open up fresh potential, and Mercury Rx’s return to your sector of personal resources says these developments can be applied to earned money, sources of income, or your personal values. Taking a second look at what you want, earn or insist on is beneficial. Pluto Rx in your social sector can push you to look behind a social facade or tradition – check out what’s really going in a friendship or group association.

Mars into your domestic sector supports Mercury Rx in your sector of personal resources. Looking more closely at money or values can help you deal with family disputes, home renovations, a home business or relocation. You may be encouraged to confront domestic clutter that needs to be cleared away. Saturn Rx’s square to Venus in your sign sharply defines an area where you feel less capable, less attractive or less deserving. However, you’re working through this and the end is in sight. While Saturn will still be squaring Chiron in your sign until the end of the month, Venus’ departure from the square suggests part of this issue will no longer be a concern. Don’t worry about achieving some impossible standard of success – attend to your responsibilities and let others worry about the rest.

April 15th, 2017: Venus Direct in Pisces

Evelyn de Morgan

Evelyn de Morgan

  • Venus in Pisces stations direct: 26 degrees

The reevaluation of relationships, finances and self-esteem (which began on March 4th when Venus stationed Rx in Aries) is now complete. You should have a greater understanding of what something’s worth. Of what you’re worth. Venus’ station is very close to Chiron in Pisces, so this understanding will involve compassionate acceptance of a wound. Moving forward means forgiving yourself or forgiving someone else. Accepting (Pisces) that it/you/they are not perfect. And, you’re going to stop reopening the wound. This is crucial. Forgiveness does not mean allowing the hurtful situation to continue. Remember – you’re moving forward.

Venus will be involved with the Saturn square, until April 21st. Progress may not feel like progress. You might wonder if there’s any movement at all. During this time, it’s important that you don’t give up. You have turned a corner. Trust this. Saturn is defining your new reality (maybe your new values) and there’s a task ahead of you. It’s the same task that you were aware of when this square first began (April 8th) but now you’re ready to lean into it. You’re done mopping up the spills of the past, and you can focus all your energy on this. Saying goodbye can be a bigger job than you imagined.

And let’s just say the work continues until April 30th, when the square between Saturn Rx and Chiron in Pisces perfects at 27 degrees. The painful limits implied by this aspect are being felt now. And the limits may continue until the end of the month. But Venus direct is leaving the party – one layer has been removed, one issue has been dealt with. That’s one less thing to worry about.

If you have any planets/points from 26 to 27 degrees of the Mutable signs, you’re in the zone for the Venus/Saturn/Chiron dance. Money, love or self-worth has reached a crisis point, but you’re in the home stretch.
