Mars’ Transit of Cancer: Family Dynamics
Horoscopes for June 4th to June 11th, 2017
Overview
June 6th brings a major shift, as Venus enters Taurus and Mercury enters Gemini. Both planets are at peak strength in the signs they rule. Venus issues (relationships, money, self-esteem) can be solidified with attention to your primary values – what’s most lucrative for you. Mercury issues (communication, information, ideas) will accelerate and bring fresh contacts, inspiration and solutions.
The June 9th Full Moon in Sagittarius is a complex one. It conjoins Saturn Rx and squares Neptune, suggesting disappointment, unclear endings, or sacrifice. Neptune dissolves Saturn’s structure, while Saturn constricts Neptune illusions. The result involves acceptance of what you cannot control or keep. Sagittarius is the sign of truth, so a Neptune/Saturn mix also brings up lies/reality, and legal matters. Ceres conjoins the Sun – issues of loss/nurturing will be part of the mix. And Juno/Pluto in Capricorn make a tense inconjunct to Sun/Ceres, so we’re also dealing with a significant partnership transformation (a metaphorical death) or adjustments to an agreement.
However, Jupiter (the ruler of this Moon) stations direct on the same day. Despite the difficulties, there will be hopeful progress. Despite the disappointments, something new will open up. And you might have to accept an initial disappointment if you want the big picture to work in your favour.
Aries
Venus into your sector of personal resources and Mercury into your communication sector increase your ability to bargain, attract and make savvy decisions that will impact your security. Earned income, self-esteem and communication is favoured.
The Full Moon in your sector of opportunities suggests a culmination involving legal matters, travel, education, official announcements or publishing. However, the rules may be unclear, or hidden factors may undermine ethical/legal results. Keep an eye on the fine print- don’t overlook any details, and make sure honesty is your number one priority. An idea/plan that you’ve been nurturing may be challenged by someone in authority.
Jupiter direct indicates movement in a partnership, but the outcome you’re heading for may be unsatisfying. Everyone will not get what they want, but cooperation is still your best approach. Juno/Pluto adds struggles for dominance, or can indicate a complete transformation in the power balance between you and another. A change in the official status of a partnership (marriage, divorce or business relationship) is a possibility.
Taurus
Venus into your sign and Mercury into your sector of personal resources favours smart self-interest. Your attraction power will increase, as will your ability to identify who/what is best for you. Relationships, physical appearance, earned money and security are emphasized.
The Full Moon in your sector of shared resources can bring results involving debts, taxes, your partner’s finances or physical/emotional intimacy. A debt can be paid off, or an investment established. Too, this can be about laying down boundaries between you and another. However, there can be confusion around what you’re trying to establish – finances or your connection to another may not be as secure as you’d hoped. Take nothing for granted, especially if you’re signing financial documents. Listen closely to what the other person is saying, or leaving out. Legal matters or mismatched ideals can be troublesome.
Jupiter direct in your sector of routine can indicate progress in a work or health matter. Too, an imbalance between you and a partner can be addressed. However, you’ll also have to confront any tendencies to take on more than you can handle, or gloss over annoying but important details. Juno/Pluto indicates legal or ethical issues about the power balance in a partnership – this Full Moon could trigger a complete transformation of your relationship beliefs.
Gemini
Venus into your hidden sector and Mercury into your sign brings a mix of influences. Mercury is your ruler, so your natural gifts of eloquence, curiosity and wit will be enhanced. You’ll have more to say, more people to talk to, and more to learn. But Venus’ move behind the scenes suggests other issues (relationships, money, self-esteem) that you won’t want to discuss openly. However, Venus can bring added insight about something precious to you – pay attention to what you sense, in addition to what you hear.
The Full Moon in your partnership sector suggests a relationship culmination. An ending, commitment or formalization may challenge a personal goal/project you’ve been nurturing. Or, you may feel torn between what’s important to you versus obligations to your partner. And those obligations may not be clear-cut; reality will get in the way of some higher ideals. Professional relationships can be especially confusing, with shifting boundaries and disappointments.
Jupiter direct in your sector of self-expression suggests an increased urge to move forward with a new romance or creative/personal project. But you’ll have to deal with Pluto/Juno’s intense struggle for dominance on the most intimate level. Who calls the shots in the bedroom, or financially, will be an issue. What you want will be intensified, and you may be prepared to go all out in terms of getting attention or satisfaction. Use caution – you’ll still have to obey Saturn’s rules, and navigate buried power struggles.
Cancer
Venus into your social sector increases your ability to attract clients or friends, while sweetening existing friendships with reminders of why they’re valuable. However, Mercury’s move into your hidden sector suggests there may be more going on behind the scenes – secrets, suspicions or thoughts that you’d rather keep to yourself will create a contrasting undercurrent. Enjoy the social surface and allow deeper issues to percolate.
The Full Moon in your sector of routine can feel heavy/frustrating, as work or health issues reach a peak. You may be looking for a clean solution, but you’ll have to make due with something incomplete, or just good enough. Too, undermining health or work habits that you’ve been ignoring can deliver unhappy results. It may be time to address areas where you’re unproductive or overworked.
Jupiter direct in your domestic sector does promise forward movement with family, a home business, domestic partnership or relocation. But you may also be juggling unreasonable demands from a partner, while struggling to adjust your hopes with what can actually be accomplished. Pluto/Juno in your partnership sector suggest a confrontation (and possible transformation) regarding fidelity or commitments. The agreement between the two of you may need to be revised.
Leo
Venus into your career sector, and Mercury into your social sector attracts people who will help you get ahead. All new contacts, networking and professional relationships are favoured. Excellent for interviews, job searches or promoting yourself.
The Full Moon in your sector of self-expression suggests a conclusion involving a new romance/attraction, creative work, children or performance. You may experience limits around how much attention/appreciation you receive, combined with deeper insecurities about worthiness or talent. Putting yourself out there can bring up all kinds of challenges to the ego, if others don’t react the way you’d hoped. Difficulties with children/adoption may be an issue.
However, Jupiter direct in your communication sector urges you to move forward with a plan, announcement or answer. But even as you do, take note of challenging health or work situations – Juno/Pluto suggest an imbalance in these areas, or difficulties around being acknowledged for what you’ve done/given.
Virgo
Venus into your sector of opportunities, and Mercury in your career sector boost your concept of what’s next. Whether it’s career goals, your contacts with those in authority, or new possibilities about the future, you’ll be primed to consider the next step. Travel, education, long-distance romance, legal matters or publishing are favoured.
The Full Moon in your domestic sector can involve family responsibilities, a home business, home construction or a domestic relationship. Conclusions involving your obligations to a family member/partner may be oppressive and unclear, with a feeling of sacrifice. Too, you could feel torn between your goals versus domestic responsibilities. In some cases, a rule/commitment that you thought was set could be dissolved.
Jupiter direct in your security sector suggests progress with earned money or self-esteem. Resources/sources of income can increase, but so can expenses. Apply caution to expectations and spending – consider if you really need X, or if you can feel better without it. Juno/Pluto suggest challenging moments involving children (or plans to have children) in a partnership. Too, future goals may be out of step with current relationship agreements about commitment. A new attraction could move to the next level, if both partners want to go deeper. But if one partner isn’t taking the union seriously, an ending is possible. Be wary of projecting your romantic dreams onto someone, or yearning for the “perfect” partner who doesn’t exist.
Libra
Venus into your sector of shared resources, and Mercury into your opportunities sector can open things up on two levels. Venus helps you attract favourable results involving debts, taxes, loans, your partner’s finances or physical/emotional intimacy. Private matters can intensify (in a good way) as the value of what you have or share becomes clear. Meanwhile, Mercury urges you to explore new ideas/contacts in the areas of travel, education, legal matters or publishing.
The Full Moon in your communication sector can bring an answer, official signing or refusal. However, you may not be 100% clear on the information that’s being presented. There may be some questions about what you’re trying to define, or what’s ethical. Too, this Moon could bring the dissolution of a contract or commitment.
Nonetheless, Jupiter direct in your sign represents significant movement. An area of growth, expansion or hope thats been stalled (or in some cases, exaggerated) can now experience balance and progress. Juno/Pluto indicate a significant shift with a domestic partner, perhaps involving legal matters, children or relocation. It won’t be a case of perfect harmony, but you can move forward with more confidence, even if you’re dealing with an ending (which could be the best thing for you).
Scorpio
Venus into your partnership sector, and Mercury into your sector of shared resources put the emphasis on what you share with/expect from another. An existing relationship can deepen, assisted by honest and intimate conversations. A new attraction can feel instantly comfortable, as you learn about each other on a profound level. Too, discussions about money/shared values may be emphasized.
The Full Moon in your sector of personal resources brings results involving earned money, sources of income or personal values. You may be confronted with limits on what you can spend, or how much you can give to/expect from someone else. Security can be compromised by romantic illusions, or misunderstandings/lies. There may be limits around nurturing on an intimate level, with fears of loss strongly activated.
Jupiter direct in your hidden sector may be felt as a background release, or increased urge for freedom. The source will not be obvious, but you could have a general feeling that things are going to be ok, even if the Full Moon delivers unfavourable results. Juno/Pluto can trigger some transformative discussions about partnership dynamics or commitment. The conversation will be uncomfortable but necessary, although there could be some attempts at manipulation. Don’t be distracted by vague promises.
Sagittarius
Venus into your sector of routine and Mercury into your partnership sector turn your focus to practical relationship issues. Who takes care of what, and who gives more, may be themes. Imbalances in the areas of daily tasks, health or work may be addressed.
The Full Moon (close to Saturn Rx) in your sign spotlights a particular obligation that you’ve been dealing with. While the rules may not be clearly defined (and issues from the past, or current family issues can muddy the waters) there’s a definite ending or result that you’ll be dealing with. In some cases, you may have to sacrifice something in favour of a relationship. Or, the relationship itself could be sacrificed – it all depends on your priorities.
Jupiter direct in your social sector gets things moving with friends, the public or group activities. As you attend to personal responsibilities, and necessary endings, you could find that others areas open up. However, Juno/Pluto suggests struggles with finances or personal values, as you and a partner attempt to hammer out an arrangement that works for both of you. You’ll need to call on your ability to be optimistic, adaptable, and philosophical. Now is not the time to take things personally, or bear grudges – Jupiter direct can help.
Capricorn
Venus into your sector of self-expression and Mercury into your sector of routine gives you access to practical ideas about getting what (or who) you want. Venus favours new romance, indulgence, celebrations or creative work (and children/pregnancy) while Mercury turns your attention to work or health solutions. You could be looking at how a new desire will fit into your daily life.
The Full Moon in your hidden sector can illuminate a private or background limit/obligation. Health or work matters may be emphasized, along with the need to give up something in order to achieve completion. A necessary loss could be part of the picture, but Jupiter direct in your career sector makes room for future growth and success. This could be a case of closing the door on an issue that’s been draining you, so you can turn your attention to a brighter future.
Juno/Pluto in your sign suggests the power balance between you and another will be challenged by work, health or routine matters. Issues of service/sacrifice for the good of the partnership may be questioned. Too, you could be confronted about your own attitudes towards help/support in a partnership (especially if one partner is ill).
Aquarius
Venus into your domestic sector and Mercury into sector of self-expression suggest happy times at home, with family, or celebrating with someone close to you. Venus emphasizes family support, or making the most of your home/home business. Mercury can bring flirtatious new contacts, or trigger creative inspiration. Too, these planets can encourage you to write about something that’s close to your heart.
The Full Moon in your social sector suggests a disappointing conclusion involving friends, groups or the public. An ending/result could leave you feeling financially/emotionally insecure or unsure about what’s next. Too, an ideal or effort to gain public support could be challenged by a reality check.
However, Jupiter direct in your sector of opportunities insists that there’s more to look forward to. Despite any current restrictions, there’s growth potential involving travel, education, legal matters or publishing. Don’t give up – keep moving towards that distant hope. This Moon’s conclusion is a necessary step on the road to something better. Pluto/Juno suggest that hidden power struggles (or unacknowledged disappointments about a relationship) can fuel your determination to push forward.
Pisces
Venus into your communication sector and Mercury into your domestic sector can get you thinking about family matters, home improvements or a home business. Favourable family discussions (especially with siblings) are hi-lighted.
The Full Moon in your career sector, including the square to Neptune in your sign, suggests a conclusion involving professional image, future goals, family, or dealings with authority. A career goal may shift or dissolve, and you may have to give something up in one area (family or career) so you can prosper in the other.
Jupiter direct in your sector of shared resources suggests this conclusion will be connected to a breakthrough on a deeper level. Shared finances or intimacy can improve, although there is also a possibility of increased expenses. Too, you could find that shifting priorities in your personal/professional life uncover more resources, on a material or psychological level. If some pressure is released, you’ll feel better. Juno/Pluto can illuminate a disconnect between public perceptions of a relationship (or relationship agreement) versus what’s going on behind closed doors.
June 3rd, 2017: A Good Day to say “Yes”
Mars in Aquarius, Moon in Virgo Compatibility
Mars in Aquarius seems too weird for fussy Moon in Virgo, but in reality, these two eccentrics can find common ground.
June 2nd, 2017: A Vulnerable Day
June 1st, 2017: Restraint Gets You What You Want
May 31st, 2017: Choose and Discuss
May 30th, 2017: Making Progress
- Mars in Gemini sextile Uranus in Aries: 26 degrees
- Sun in Gemini sextile Vesta in Leo: 9 degrees
- Mercury in Taurus trine Juno Rx in Capricorn: 17 degrees
Mars/Uranus triggers a hit of ingenuity, plus the courage to do something with it. Actions are driven by restlessness, and would normally be quite scattered, were it not for the Mars/Saturn opposition. The ease of the sextile means impatient/risky efforts have a positive outlet. You can attempt something different without tripping. This is one aspect in the top of the Kite, described here.
Vesta adds focus to the Sun in Gemini’s multitasking. One choice is easier to make – watch for a pull in a certain direction. The Sun rules Leo, adding extra shine and purpose to Vesta’s devotion. Creative work, and pride in what you’re bringing to life, is fuelled by new information, discussions or contacts.
Mercury/Juno suggests calm relationship discussions, or signing a contract between partners. Words support a mutual agreement, and all the basics are covered. There are no fancy promises or convoluted details, just straightforward ideas you can shake on.
This is an excellent day for progress, cooperation and motivation.
May 29th, 2017: Mars in Gemini Opposite Saturn
- Mars in Gemini opposes Saturn Rx in Sagittarius: 25 degrees
The pressure to act or choose increases because of restrictions. You’re blocked or denied by external rules, or someone’s authority. And yet, there’s something you have to do. There’s a responsibility – work to be done. As a culmination aspect, it can deliver endings, results of previous work, or results of what hasn’t been done.
The harder you push, the more resistance there is. Brute force and temper tantrums won’t work. You may be so angry, but are not allowed to express it. What to do? Suss out the path you need to take, and the choice you need to make. There can only be one (Saturn narrows your options, especially when he’s Rx). Do what you have to do. Be calm, be persistent.
Another possibility is swinging between full stop (Saturn) and scattered efforts (Mars in Gemini). Hopping wildly from here to there, then running into a wall and giving up. The best way to deal with any opposition is to find that balance point. Aim for a slow, steady release of energy. Focus, then take it one step at a time.
This opposition is the backbone of the Kite I discussed here. That’s a good thing, because nothing says “backbone” like Saturn. This is one of the strongest aspects in existence. You know what you’re up against – act accordingly. Your mature (Saturn) actions (Mars) are the release point of that Kite.
