Uranus’ Transit of Taurus

Here we are, on the cusp of a new era. Can you feel it? Uranus enters Taurus on May 15th at 11:16 AM EDT.

The last time Uranus changed signs (when it entered Aries) was May 27th, 2010. It will exit Taurus for Gemini on July 7th, 2025. This gives you an idea of how significant Uranus’ ingresses are – these shifts don’t happen every day. Each time Uranus enters a new sign, liberation, disruption and progress occur in a new area. Wherever Taurus falls in your chart is where you’ll be modernized or liberated.

Taurus is stubborn and avoids change. Uranus is change. Taurus is about comfort and physical sensuality. Uranus is detachment and shock. When the two collide, you just know that the comfort zone is going to be updated, like it or not.

When interpreting these transits, I find it helpful to combine keywords. So here’s your cheat sheet (Uranus keywords on the left, Taurus keywords on the right):

  • new values
  • new approach to money/security/survival/pleasure/self-esteem/beauty
  • disrupted habits
  • new physical expression
  • disruption of stagnation
  • liberation from supression
  • detachment from possessions/possessiveness
  • upgrade of what’s stagnated

These changes may be voluntary or involuntary, but either way there will be a sudden catalyst. It will likely feel uncomfortable, but it will be necessary. Taurus gets stuck into what’s safe, and sometimes that can result in a shutdown and poverty mentality, rather than abundance and growth. Uranus is here to ensure that any stale areas are liberated. If the soil is no longer fertile, this transit will blow it away or push you into new, more fertile territory.

Note that the transiting South Node is in Uranus-ruled Aquarius until November 6th, 2018. The South Node is the past, or what’s ready to be carried forward. Uranus into Taurus says that you can make that leap forward by updating your comfort zone. Liberate yourself from old definitions of money, security, beauty or comfort. Find a new source of income. Let go of what you’ve been clinging to. And don’t worry about guessing where the change will happen – Uranus will show you.

Wondering how Uranus’ transit of Taurus might impact you? I’ve written an eBook about it, based on your house positions (you need to know your birth time so you can figure out which description in the book applies to you).

Overview

Uranus into Taurus

May 15th is a huge day. There’s a Taurus New Moon  and Uranus enters Taurus. Talk about new beginnings that will rattle the foundations. Uranus also rules the Aquarius South Node (the past) so this transit will be a crucial part of dealing with detachment, alienation or trauma. In order to step away from the past, you’ll need to crack open the set routines of your comfort zone.

Wondering how Uranus’ seven-year transit of Taurus might impact you? I’ve written an eBook about it, based on your house positions (you need to know your birth time so you can figure out which description in the book applies to you).

On May 16th, Mars into Aquarius triggers Uranus in Taurus with a square – the first changes will hit because of rebellious or unexpected actions. Note that Mars will station Rx in Aquarius on June 9th, and will square Uranus two more times before he exits Aquarius on November 15th. So the first hit on March 16th will not be a one-off. If you feel an impending sense of urgency or craziness, you’re not imagining things.

Venus/Chiron: Vulnerability is the Path to Healing

Venus enters Cancer on May 19th, squaring Chiron in Aries on May 20th. Venus in Cancer is especially sensitive (she craves comfort and the shelter of love) and her square to Chiron will mix love/yearning with pain or vulnerability. What you want will remind you of why it hurts to want/love. You can hide from this, or use it as a prompt to confront the freshly exposed Chiron in Aries’ wounds. Note that Venus in Cancer can retreat inside the shell when hurt, so that’s an option. But shutting down completley would accomplish nohting. You need to protect yourself, but don’t ignore what’s hurting – Chiron is not moving through Aries on a whim. Find that courage and look at where it hurts, why it hurts and how you can deal with it.

The Season of Alternatives

Finally, the Sun enters Gemini on May 20th, kicking off the season of the messenger. New information, choices and layers of possibility will unfold. Keep your ears open for key messages – people or pieces of information can reveal alternate paths and additional complications. It’s not straightforward, but this energy can be helpful if one approach simply isn’t working for you. Gemini says that there’s always another way.

Aries

The New Moon and Uranus into your sector of personal resources kick off a new approach to earned money, values and self-esteem. Uranus’ exit from your sign presents the next layer to changes from the past seven years. Now that the initial burst of freedom/disruption has taken place, you’ll be working on how to ground yourself in this new reality. A new career or financial opportunity is possible.

Mars in your social sector square Uranus can jolt you via external challenges or competition. Now is not the time to coast – you may have to defend yourself or your property, and a financial or career development demands that you stay on your toes.

Venus into your domestic sector square Chiron in your sign can trigger fresh sensitivities regarding family, the past or your current domestic set up. The issue may be rooted in history, but you’ll be experiencing it in a new way. Perhaps a desire for something (security, a sense of belonging) makes you feel more vulnerable, or makes you aware of how you don’t fit the typical profile. That’s ok -you’re not supposed to fit anyone’s profile but your own.

The Sun’s move into your communication sector will activate more incoming and outgoing information. Conversations, brief meetings, fresh ideas and a plethora of choices will keep you hopping.

Taurus

The New Moon and Uranus into your sign will open up a radical new chapter. Appearance, lifestyle, relationships or public identity can all experience a massive update, even if you don’t think an update is necessary. When change arrives, don’t resist. Primary targets will be any habits or attitudes that are keeping you stuck in the past or in an unproductive situation. For some, a simmering background issue will finally go public – this is your new truth.

Mars in your career sector square Uranus in your sign gives you the first clue about what might change – a new job, changes in an existing job or issues involving your relationship with those in authority can rattle you. You may not want to accept the challenge, but it’s coming at you. This energy can motivate you to upgrade: your resume, approach to future goals or approach to success in general is ready for progress.

Venus into your communication sector squares Chiron, suggesting that conversations/understandings will be a painful mix of yearning and insecurity. What you want to hear may not unfold the way you’d hoped. Or, your attempts to connect with another can stir up latent fears about being hurt/unaccepted. These moments are designed to draw your attention to what you’ve been avoiding. There’s also potential for an apology or healing conversation, if you’re courageous enough to confront what’s hidden.

The Sun’s move into your sector of personal resources hi-lights various choices regarding earned money, personal values or security requirements. There’s more than one path to what you want – it’s time to be flexible.

Gemini

The New Moon and Uranus in your hidden sector open your eyes to secret or undeveloped potentials. What you were unaware of, or what you thought was impossible, can suddenly reveal itself to be present and possible. Don’t ignore what’s being revealed, whether it’s positive or negative.

Mars in your sector of opportunities squares Uranus, pushing you via unexpected prompts involving travel, education, legal matters or publishing. You may feel unprepared and vulnerable as challenges impact you in an area that you thought was safely hidden, but it’s time to work with what’s behind the scenes. This could be a dream come true or major exposure.

Venus into your sector of personal resources squares Chiron, triggering issues where you feel a profound lack of security, money or confidence. What you want can hi-light social insecurities. Or, others can make you aware of what you’re missing. The real issue is your overall approach to a friendship, group or public issue.

The Sun into your sign says that it’s your time of the year, once again. While positive and negative issues can be illuminated, your birthday is prime time to take stock of the choices you’ve made and how you can advance or improve those choices in the coming year. The landscape has changed dramatically since last year. While this can mean disruption, it also means a chance to start fresh and try out something new (you excel at this).

Cancer

The New Moon and Uranus in your social sector introduce a new chapter regarding friends, groups or your public image. Watch for new people who will be significant to your future in some way. At the same time, existing friendships/group associations may end or change – this is a reboot of your connection to the public. Who you used to be, on a social level, is a thing of the past. In some cases you may need to innovate or move in a totally different direction if you want to stay relevant.

Mars into sector of shared resources squares Uranus, and the first trigger for the above changes will be sudden action in the areas of debts, taxes, loans, your partner’s finances or intimacy. Private issues will have an immediate public impact, and much of what happens may be out of your hands (triggered by someone else).

Venus into your sign squares Chiron in your career sector. On the one hand, Venus gifts you with extra charm and attraction power. On the other hand, the square to Chiron will emphasize insecurities around a new job, home business, your professional image or your approach to success. You may question if you’re good enough/talented enough. Know that you’ve got what it takes, but you are being asked to confront a vulnerability.

The Sun into your hidden sector can illuminate secrets, undeveloped potentials or private choices that will become public in the future.

Leo

The New Moon and Uranus in your career sector indicate a professional upgrade, be it forced or voluntary. You probably have an idea if your current professional path is fulfilling and vibrant, or stale and limiting. Any situation where you’ve been going through the motions or have gotten too comfortable will be disrupted, and ultimately this will be in your best interests. In some cases, a whole new path could open up as you radically change your professional status.

Uranus rules the South Node in your partnership sector, so part of the changes will involve a romanic or business relationship. A partnership (or your approach to one-on-one relationships) has reached a tipping point and the next stage is here. The future for you and another (or the way you relate to others) will be very different from your current situation. Mars into your relationship sector squares Uranus, suggesting that the first trigger for the above will be someone else’s actions or challenge. Competition or pressure can abruptly jolt you, making you aware that your current goals need to change.

Venus into your hidden sector squares Chiron, stirring up background insecurities or wounds. This could be something you don’t want to look at, or an issue that you want to keep private. Developments involving travel, education, legal matters or publishing will be the trigger.

The Sun into your social sector can keep you busy with new meetings, group activities or a heightened awareness of your interactions with friends. Your exchange of information with the public will increase, as well as your choices around how to respond and who to listen to/talk with.

Virgo

The New Moon and Uranus in your opportunities sector can open up new horizons involving travel, relocation, education, legal matters or publishing. Something you never considered could grab your attention or propel you onto a new path. There’s risk, but these energies harmonize with your sign, so the changes should be fairly easily to handle.

Mars into your sector of routine squares Uranus. Efforts to fix/correct/improve an issue related to work or health may be the initial event that propels you forward. Changes to habits, or your approach to service, can take you further – this is about opening your eyes to greater possibilities. In some cases, an abrupt change in your routine may open new doors.

Venus into your social sector squares Chiron, hi-lighting public doubts or vulnerabilities. Social anxiety could be an issue, or there could be a painful interaction with a friend or group. You may feel that your social image is inadequate or undesirable, but know that the roots for these feelings actually involve the ebb and flow of control and what you share or owe. Hidden psychological wounds can have public consequences, so take the time to delve into what you may not want to confront. Awareness is your best tool and can mitigate any feelings of vulnerability if more is exposed than you’re comfortable with.

The Sun into your career sector hi-lights the choices you make regarding success, future goals and professional relationships. The pace of professional contacts can increase, along with new ideas for a business or work project. You may have more than one option regarding a job search, new angle for your business or dealings with management.

Libra

The New Moon and Uranus in your sector of shared resources can stir up what’s been buried or ignored regarding debts, taxes, your partner’s finances or intimacy. There could be a dramatic shift regarding what you share or owe, with the emphasis on giving up some control, or reclaiming what’s yours. A deeper connection between you and another can stir up vulnerabilities or new levels of trust.

Mars into your sector of self-expression squares Uranus, triggering an abrupt surge of attraction or risky impulses around spending or sharing. Boundaries may be trampled – be careful if you’re the one who’s pushing. If you’re aiming for increased intensity or you’re trying to uncover a secret, you may get more than you bargained for. The initial push can crack open a Pandora’s box of goodies.

Venus into your career sector squares Chiron, hi-lighting relationship insecurities/doubts on a personal and professional level. Professional image can be an issue, along with questions about your ability to connect with the right people or keep your private life separate from your public life. You may be put on the spot in an interview or business meeting – the key is how you connect with others on a one-on-one basis. Finding common ground and expressing empathy can help.

The Sun into your sector of opportunities emphasizes new and expansive potentials in the areas of travel, education, legal matters or publishing. Learning something new, or absorbing multiple pieces of intel, may be key. The pace of info will be fast, and your options will be plentiful.

Scorpio

The New Moon and Uranus in your partnership sector can trigger a new chapter in an existing relationship, or a brand new relationship. Whether there’s a beginning or ending, your partnership values will be upgraded along with your identity as a partner. Old habits involving possessiveness and refusal to let go of the past will be forcefully disrupted. Get used to the concepts of freedom and trust  – you’ll have to learn how to release control. Someone new could be your wake-up call.

Mars into your domestic sector squares Uranus, and the first trigger for the above will involve home, family or actions based in the past. A domestic partnership could go through an upheaval, or your efforts to change things at home could trigger shockwaves in your love life.

Venus into your sector of opportunities squares Chiron, revealing the vulnerability behind the risk. Travel, long-distance romance, education, legal matters or publishing can offer intriguing new opportunities, but your first step into the unknown can raise questions. Are you prepared? Will you be ok? While some caution is advised, know that these vulnerabilities are being triggered for a reason – a personal battle is linked with distant horizons, and you can’t move forward until you confront something in your daily life.

The Sun into your sector of shared resources illuminates what’s in the shadows. Choices/information around debts, taxes, loans, your partner’s finances or intimacy will get your attention, and it can make you uneasy or relieved to know that there’s more than one option. Flexibility is key – keep an open mind when dealing with sensitive issues.

Sagittarius

The New Moon and Uranus in your sector of routine can introduce a sudden change in your work environment, health or daily habits. The goal will be to increase your security (financial and emotional) by upgrading your daily situation. This could mean saying goodbye to undermining exercise or diet issues, work habits or unbalanced approaches to helping others. Change can be within your control (self-care) or beyond your control (changes to your job or medical issues) but either way the goal is to improve your current situation.

Mars into your communication sector squares Uranus and gets the ball rolling on the above via an impulsive or aggressive message/conversation/realization. The first trigger to a whole new lifestyle may be a demand or argument.

Venus into your sector of shared resources squares Chiron, triggering painful vulnerabilities around intimacy, shared finances or psychological issues. On a deep level, you may feel unwanted, unloved or lacking in something essential. The actual issue is about your self-worth and confidence – by putting yourself out there, you’re making yourself vulnerable. This is not a bad thing – when you put your heart or creative efforts on the line, you’re stepping into territory that requires courage. A risk may be painful, but what you learn will be priceless and can commence the process of healing. One caveat – use extra caution when dealing with debts, taxes or your partner’s finances. This is not the best time to take chances with your money.

The Sun into your partnership sector can increase the exchange of information with a partner, or increase your awareness of additional romantic options. In general, the choices you make when connecting with others in a one-on-one capacity will be hi-lighted. Take note of any duality in your relationships – two sides to what you want, or two sides to your partner.

Capricorn

The New Moon (trining Pluto Rx in your sign) and Uranus in your sector of self-expression adds urgency to your desire for something/someone new. Issues involving creative work, new attractions or children can become vital, with a no-time-to-waste vibe. New developments can hit quickly and unexpectedly, although your ongoing efforts to manifest a desired goal will drive what happens. Yes, you manifested this.

Mars into your sector of personal resources squares Uranus, triggering the first stage of events via a surge of ambition. Financially or emotionally you’re ready to push the limits, but use some caution – don’t undermine your security in your eagerness to make something happen.

Venus into your partnership sector squares Chiron, stirring up empathy and vulnerability. Relationship issues can be bittersweet, as love/attraction makes you aware of wounds from the past (based in domestic issues). Old wounds may be triggered but they don’t have to dominate a new relationship.

The Sun into your sector of routine can increase your workload, your energy and the number of solutions or corrections. This can be a busy time, and you may find it difficult to focus on the essentials. Make a list and prioritize, but have a Plan B column just in case.

Aquarius

The New Moon and Uranus into your domestic sector can usher in a surprising new chapter regarding home, family, parents or your current living situation. This will be the ultimate break from the past – relocation is a possibility. Uranus rules the South Node in your sign, so this will also be about bringing a personal matter (involving your identity or image) to fruition. It’s time to move towards the future, and this could mean stepping away from familiar childhood issues.  Mars into your sign squares Uranus, triggering the first tremor  – you’ll be primed and ready to take action, and while this may disrupt things at home, you know on some level that it had to happen.

Venus into your sector of routine squares Chiron, hi-lighting discomfort or weakness around health, your daily routine or work. You efforts to help, improve or correct may be ignored or devalued. You could feel a lack of assistance and support, or even criticism for your efforts. Too, your efforts to speak up can reveal something uncomfortable. Nonetheless, this is about you finding your voice and saying what needs to be said.

The Sun into your sector of self-expression can bring some welcome lightness, as your attention is drawn to reasons to celebrate, flirt or show off. Keep it light, and enjoy the moment for what it is.

Pisces

The New Moon and Uranus in your communication sector can surprise you with an unexpected announcement, discussion or realization. The New Moon will kick things off, and Uranus’ transit will continue the trend with new subjects to learn, new things to say and new ideas/connections that open up your world in odd ways. Brief meetings can be powerful catalysts as fixed ideas are shaken.

Mars into your hidden sector squares Uranus, suggesting that an unconscious or secret impulse will trigger conscious changes. Behind-the-scenes actions can reveal surprising things while clueing you into new/unusual topics.

Venus into your sector of self-expression squares Chiron, triggering doubts about attractiveness, talent and worthiness. A new attraction or desire to create/display your work can stir up these doubts. Rejection may or may not occur, but the pain will still be there. Consider the root of the issue – your right to financial/emotional wholeness and security, and the weak spot that’s challenging you.

The Sun into your domestic sector can spur family discussions or multiple choices around a home business, relocation, decorating or dealing with issues from the past.

Overview

Mercury and Venus Noise

Mercury and Venus are challenged this week.

May 7th sees Mercury in Aries squaring Pluto Rx, then Mars (both in Capricorn) on May 12th. Mercury in Aries is impulsive and hot-tempered, so the square to Pluto can intensify this with manipulative attempts at domination, while Mars triggers outright hostility. All this will come out in words or crisis-driven thoughts. Mercury’s explosive conjunction with Uranus on May 13th wraps it up with a jolting conclusion and shot of clarity, followed by Mercury’s Taurus ingress. The gears shift abruptly as thoughts slow down and focus on immediate resources. The hot words that were being flung around will come down to earth with a crash as sh*t gets real.

Venus in Gemini squares Neptune on May 7th, makes an inconjunct to Jupiter Rx in Scorpio on May 9th and anohter inconjunct to Pluto Rx on May 12th. Neptune will offer seductive and confusing choices involving relationships, money or values. Something may look very good, or you may think you have plenty to choose from. But the reality will be quite different. Venus in Gemini’s flexibility will be distorted, because all choices will seem possible (even if none of them are).

Inconjuncts are always tricky, because they link incompatible energies. Venus/Jupiter can increase a longing for more without clarifying what that “more” consists of, while Venus/Pluto suggests undercurrents of jealousy or fear of losing what you have. The key with any inconjunct is to work with both sides. Decide what you want (Venus in Gemini) then use the Jupiter/Pluto triggers to look at what you feel you’re missing, or are afraid of. Rather than giving in to the fear or craving, consider what it’s telling you about your current situation. What are the facts (Gemini) behind what you want?

Your Real Goal

In the midst of this we have a Sun/Jupiter opposition (discussed in last week’s horoscopes) on May 8th, fortified by a trine between the Taurus Sun and Pluto on May 11th. Here we have the conclusion with a high probability of success. The Sun can illuminate what Jupiter Rx in Scorpio has uncovered – resources, truths or power. Or Shadow issues. But when Jupiter is in play, there’s always a chance that you can turn something difficult (even Shadow stuff) into something fortunate. Pluto adds intensity, strength and the ability to make it happen (manifestation).

The catch? Navigating the Mercury and Venus mess – don’t get sidetracked by delusions or verbal conflicts. Not that you should ignore these issues of course. But there will be a strong temptation to get wrapped up in the messiness, to lose yourself in the fantasy or the mudslinging or the vengeful/paranoid thoughts. Attend to the issues but keep yourself above the fray. The exception to this is the Mercury/Uranus conjunction- it will be an unavoidable, essential truth.

The Sun/Jupiter opposition is your main goal for this week; keep your eyes on the prize. This goes back to Jupiter Rx – what area of expansion are you refining and focusing? Where are you going deeper?

Aries

Aspects to Mercury in your sign (including the conjunction to Uranus) suggest that you may hammer your point across, or your words may be challenged by someone in authority. Communication and information will be jolting and possibly hostile, but you’ll also be strongly motivated to say what needs to be said. The truth can be harsh as power plays and manipulations are unearthed. As Mercury is propelled by Uranus into your sector of personal resources, you’ll take what you’ve discovered and apply it to immediate survival issues. Finances, self-esteem and security will be first on your list.

Aspects to Venus in your communication sector suggest confusing messages, odd flirtations and misunderstandings. It’s absoltuely essential that you confirm the facts in a conversation, meeting or first contact. There’s a chance that you’ll fill in the blanks  with what you’re hoping for, rather than the facts. Watch for niggling feelings of dissatisfaction and suspicion, regarding career, shared finances and intimacy.

Fortunately, aspects to the Sun in your sector of personal resources spell overall success and abundance. Financial and career matters can reach a satisfying conclusion, as long as you’re not thrown off track by the tricky aspects to Mercury and Venus.

Taurus

Aspects to Mercury in your hidden sector indicate the rough reveal of a secret or unacknowledged issue. Whether this is something you’ve been actively hiding, or you simply weren’t aware of what was in your blindspot, the unspoken will come out due to challenges involving travel, education, legal matters or publishing. Too, you may be pushed to speak out as your passion or anger is triggered. Mercury is propelled by Uranus into your sign, suggesting that everything will come out in a rush of truth and clarity.

Aspects to Venus in your sector of personal resources can encourage you to spend, give or sacrifice. Be very cautious with finances or relationships – it will be easy to get distracted by promises and dreams, while also feeling a vague sense of insecurity and emptiness (as if what you have is not quite enough). Partnership issues can leave you wanting more. Take stock of your actual resources and values, and make sure you’re not undermining yourself with yearnings for what’s impossible.

Aspects to the Sun in your sign do promise a successful partnership conclusion with room for future growth and empowerment. You can go far with the right support, as long as the above aspects to Mercury and Venus don’t weaken your grip on reality.

Gemini

Aspects to Mercury in your social sector suggest buried tensions involving debts, taxes, loans, your partner’s finances, intimacy or psychological issues can trigger public tensions with friends or groups. Use care with public statements – hidden anger/frustration can give your words considerable impact. Too, this could be about the public reveal of a secret. As Mercury conjoins Uranus and then enters your hidden sector, watch for an explosive finale to the above that sees you pulling back to process and gather your thoughts.

Aspects to Venus in your sign see you getting carried away with certain work issues. Something may look very promising, but your perception of what’s achievable will be distorted. Your professional image could be impacted. Watch for the temptation to take on too much, say “Yes” to something inappropriate, or accept a solution that may not be in your best interests. Deeper issues involving suspicion, jealousy or anxiety about losing control can also influence you.

Aspects to the Sun in your hidden sector are hopeful, as a hidden/undeveloped potential   comes to fruition. Your adjustments to work routines, health or dealings with co-workers could pay off, and you’ll find that you also have access to deeper resources (financial or emotional) that empower you. But in order to make the most of these aspects. you’ll need to be very aware of what’s driving you (instincts, anger) while making wise choices regarding your career/professional relationships.

Cancer

Aspects to Mercury in your career sector suggest a partnership or competitor can trigger some edgy professional conversations or statements. It may be difficult to keep your cool and respond in a mature manner, but that’s exactly what you’ll have to do. Don’t allow someone else to pull your strings. Mercury’s conjunction to Uranus, followed by its move into your social sector, suggests this will culminate in a surprising discovery or career announcement. What comes out will immediately turn your attention to its impact on the bigger picture (including your connection to the public). A public launch can take off in an unexpected direction.

Aspects to Venus in your hidden sector can stir up vague longings, illusions about what’s next and manipulations in a relationship. Much will be centred around what you’re not fully aware of, or what you’re denying.  A romantic attraction can be misleading, or your desire for something more can lead you down the wrong path.

Aspects to the Sun in your social sector suggest a successful launch or the growth of a relationship, but much will depend on how you handle what’s going on behind the scenes. You’ll need to differentiate between what’s real and reliable, versus what’s distracting or completely irrational. However, even illusions can be helpful – pay attention to where you’re feeling let down, where you’re craving more, or why you want to escape. These are clues about what needs attention in your life.

Leo

Aspects to Mercury in your sector of opportunities can trigger tense conversations/announcements involving education, travel, legal matters or publishing. Workload may be an issue, or you could be pressured to supply a solution. You may be fired up by a legal or ethical challenge. Too, health matters could challenge big-picture plans. As Mercury conjoins Uranus then enters your career sector, watch for an explosive conclusion to the above, followed by a change in focus- big-picture goals or passionate/angry ideals will now be put firmly into context as you see how your professional life/image is impacted. Too, this could be when you get serious about making impulsive statements real.

Aspects to Venus in your social sector can blur the lines between platonic and romantic, or true friendship versus manipulation a passing acquaintance. Social cues will be challenging to read, or you could be the one who’s sending out mixed messages. Watch for undercurrents of insecurity or restlessness based on issues close to home.

Aspects to the Sun in your career sector suggest a powerful conclusion around a job search, your current professional efforts or future goals (including relocation). Success is a possibility, and this will be due in part to your readjustment of domestic and work/health issues. However, the challenging aspects to Mercury and Venus are a warning to pay close attention to what’s being said (versus what you suspect or hope for) while also ensuring that your communication and intentions are crystal clear.

Virgo

Aspects to Mercury in your sector of shared resources can stir up volatile conversations or insights around debts, taxes, loans, your partner’s finances or intimacy. The subject matter will be sensitive, but this energy is driven by anger, ambition, passion or recklessness. Choose your words carefully and understand that you cannot force a desired response. On the plus side, what’s been buried will come out, especially when Mercury conjoins Uranus. Watch for an explosive reveal or moment of clarity. As Mercury enters your sector of opportunities, the above reveal will open up new perspectives. You may see that there’s more to this than you first thought, or the shock may propel you to forward to learn more/speak out.

Aspects to Venus in your career sector can make professional relationships tricky. A partnership (business or romantic) can be confusing, so make sure the lines between your personal and professional life are clearly drawn. It may seem as if you have multiple choices, but all of them are not viable. Overestimating your reach and falling prey to jealousy/paranoia are also risks – don’t get distracted by thoughts of what might be, or someone else’s success.

Aspects to the Sun in your sector of opportunities suggest an expansive announcement, graduation or public result that’s empowered by your efforts involving creative work, a special purpose or powerful desire. You can take this one much further, as long as you’re aware of the challenging aspects to Mercury and Venus. Your approach to professional matters will be key.

Libra

Aspects to Mercury in your relationship sector can trigger volatile conversations with a partner. Domestic issues may be at the root of any conflicts, or, your efforts to move on from the past will create tension. Mercury’s conjunction to Uranus can abruptly end or accelerate the matter. Harmony will be difficult to achieve, so be open to what’s revealed while ensuring that your voice is heard. As Mercury enters your sector of shared resources, the above tension can open up deeper levels of communication, or get you thinking about the true nature of your relationship.

Aspects to Venus in your sector of opportunities can present some tempting but misleading potentials in the areas of long-distance romance, travel, education, legal matters or publishing. What’s in front of you may be new and exciting, but approach with caution. There’s still much to learn. Feelings of dissatisfaction with what you have, a craving for more and deeper issues of insecurity/control (based in the past) can blur the lines.

Aspects to the Sun in your sector of shared resources suggest promising results for domestic finances, personal abundance or an intimate relationship. You’ll discover, after a  process of refinement and adjustment, that there’s more to work with. But how you handle the challenging aspects to Mercury and Venus will be key.

Scorpio

Aspects to Mercury in your sector of routine suggest difficult conversations involving health, work routines or obligations to others. You may be pressured to fix, deliver or improve. Too, an error may be revealed, and Mercury’s conjunction with Uranus can drop some clarity in the form of an unexpected solution or your realization that current approaches to work/health/service can no longer continue. As Mercury enters your partnership sector, the above clarity will result in a more balanced approach to what you do for others. You’ll be looking at how much others value your work.

Aspects to Venus in your sector of shared resources can make smart choices regarding debts, taxes, loans, your partner’s finances or intimacy difficult. The desire for an ultimate reward or romance can increase spending, illusions or an urge to lose yourself in someone. Inconjuncts to Jupiter Rx (in your sign) and Pluto Rx in your communication sector can stir up paranoia, jealousy or an insatiable craving for a something that’s difficult to pinpoint. Use caution regarding what you share or give.

The Sun in your partnership sector opposite Jupiter Rx in your sign can illuminate a key relationship goal or result. Whether this is an ending or shift to something more substantial, there should be satisfaction with the way things are progressing. The trine to Pluto Rx indicates a commitment or powerful confirmation/agreement. However, success will depend on your approach to Mercury and Venus’ challenging aspects.

Sagittarius

Aspects to Mercury in your sector of self-expression can motivate you to speak out about an attraction, creative work or something you feel passionate about. Your voice will be unmistakable and attention-grabbing, so keep that in mind when you’re expressing yourself. In some cases, these energies can encourage you to take risks based on anger or impatience. Mercury’s conjunction with Uranus can deliver a jolt of truth, inspiration or courage. You may or may not like what you discover (or the responses you get) but Mercury’s move into your sector of routine will focus you on the practical essentials of how deal with what’s unfolded. Solutions will be forthcoming.

Aspects to Venus in your partnership sector suggest that domestic issues, or issues from the past, can undermine relationship choices. Delusion can play a role, and this may not be the best time to count on a firm decision from your partner. Unspoken expectations and anxieties around loss/possessiveness can make things tricky. In some cases, you may be imagining an attraction.

Aspects to the Sun in your sector of routine indicate a grounding influence which can counteract the above confusion. Watch for results involving your immediate routines, approach to work or health. Your efforts to strengthen financial and emotional security can empower these results, but make sure you don’t get distracted by what’s tempting but vague – focus on what you know is real.

Capricorn

Aspects to Mercury in your domestic sector (including the squares to Pluto Rx and Mars in your sign) suggest conflicts involving family discussions, a home business or relocation. Your efforts to encourage (or force) something to happen can crank the tension up, until Mercury’s conjunction with Uranus blows the lid off with an ending, jolting truth or discovery about something from the past. You have a considerable amount of power in your corner  – use it wisely. Mercury’s move into your sector of self-expression speaks to cutting loose and making your voice heard.

Aspects to Venus in your sector of routine can undermine work, health or obligations to others. Vague instructions, mixed messages or difficulty in deciding what you want can make solutions challenging. The inconjunct to Pluto Rx in your sign, and Jupiter Rx in your social sector, suggest an uneasy mix of desire to do more for others combined with undercurrents of manipulation and efforts to control your environment. Your intentions will be unclear, even to yourself.

Jupiter’s opposition to the Sun in your sector of self-expression can bring a pleasing result or celebration in the areas of creative work, performance, a launch, new attraction or children/pregnancy. The trine to Pluto Rx in your sign says that you’ll be the prime source of manifestation  – you could get what you want. However, the challenging aspects to Mercury and Venus are a caution to clarify your desires and pull back a little on the power plays.

Aquarius

Aspects to Mercury in your communication sector suggest volatile arguments, statements or verbal explosions will be driven by hidden anger and power plays. Unexamined motivations will be potent, so pay attention to what’s behind the words. Mercury’s conjunction with Uranus can signal a radical decision, discovery or final-straw outburst. Mercury’s move into your domestic sector indicates that the clarity you gain will be applied to home and family matters. Too, issues from the past may be examined in a new light.

Aspects to Venus in your sector of self-expression can encourage flirtations, fantasies, intense creativity or unwise risks. This energy can go many ways – the choice is yours. Be wary of excessive spending, celebrating or getting caught up in a fantasy that costs you. You can use any feelings of restlessness, passion or longing to fuel creative work or alert you to what you’ve been avoiding/denying.

Aspects to the Sun in your domestic sector suggests a culmination involving career, future goals or your professional image. A shift in perspective regarding these issues, or a more intensive focus on one area, can deliver positive results. A promotion, new job or change in goals will be powered up by a less obvious but potent drive to make it happen. There can be a dream-come-true vibe to this, as you finally align yourself with an ultimate goal. However, much depends on how you handle the challenging aspects to Mercury and Venus – unconscious motivations and conscious expectations can undermine or empower you, depending on your awareness and proper focus.

Pisces

Aspects to Mercury in your sector of personal resources can trigger volatile discussions/decisions that impact your earned money, values or self-esteem. You may be on the defensive and feel like you need to verbally hit back or make demands. Public or social challenges can also motivate you to put yourself first. Mercury’s conjunction with Uranus indicates a surprising conclusion/reveal about money or security, and the force of this revelation can open your eyes to entirely new facts, as Mercury enters your communication sector. This is not the end of the story- you’re starting a whole new chapter.

Aspects to Venus (including the square to Neptune in your sign) in your domestic sector suggest confusion around home and family (including relocation, buying/selling your home or domestic relationships). There may be hopeful illusions, unsatisfied expectations and a touch of paranoia/suspicion. Issues from the past, or current domestic habits, will make it difficult to see things clearly.

Aspects to the Sun in your communication sector can bring a favourable announcement/decision with social support. Your words can have significant public impact. Or, you could learn something valuable that has significant long-range impact. Much depends on how you navigate the challenging aspects to Mercury and Venus. It will be easy to  lose focus – remember what your original goal was.

New Moon in Taurus and Uranus in Taurus

  William Blake

William Blake

The May 15th Taurus New Moon (24 deg, 7:47 AM EDT) is powered up by a trine to Pluto Rx in Capricorn. Pluto Rx digs even deeper as it goes back over old ground, and these reviews/intensified transformations will be part of this new beginning. This Moon will also trine Mars (in the last degree of Capricorn) so there will be an ambitious drive to make to happen.

In keeping with Taurus energy, you can expect this beginning to have staying power. It’s likely to be visible/physical (Taurus is an Earth sign) and involve values, money or resources.

Sounds pretty calm so far. However, Uranus will make its big move into Taurus on this same day. I’ve written an ebook on this major transit if you want to know how it might impact you. But in general, expect this (roughly) 7 year influence to completely overhaul your approach to money, security and stability. Old habits will be broken, and outdated values will be left behind. I’ll write a more detailed post on this transit, closer to the date.

Whatever this New Moon introduces will be the first rumble of the Uranus in Taurus earthquake. Note that Mars will enter Uranus-ruled Aquarius early on May 16th, and will square Uranus in Taurus. So the actions that propelled this New Moon will jump unexpectedly – what starts off as a slow, determined push will accelerate quickly, and the outcome will reverberate over the next 7 years. Mars square Uranus can be violent, or can trigger accidents. It can also trigger a liberation from stale or restrictive rules/habits.

The New Moon starts out in a controlled fashion, but everything will speed up and head in surprising directions. This can be a surprise breakthrough or a breakdown. You won’t have control over everything, but your intentions when you first start out will still be important. For the best results (even if things develop in weird ways) it’s vital that you focus on healthy and empowering changes.

As this New Moon and Uranus’ Taurus ingress approach, consider what you want to manifest and what you want to free yourself from. Earth signs are all about making it real, and Taurus (and Aquarius) are fixed signs. So even though there will be some teeth-rattling action and electirc events, you’re still looking at long-term change
