Mercury in Leo

July 3rd sees Mercury in Leo conjoin the North Node. Here is an important message, realization or messenger. Something you hear or read (or a significant person) will point you towards your future. Or, you may have an opportunity to say something bold that grabs attention in the right way. 

Mercury moves towards an opposition with Mars Rx in Aquarius, exact on July 5th, and this adds passionate challenges to the Mercury/North Node mix. Actions (Mars) are at odds with words (Mercury) and due to the retrograde, they will be intensified/repeat actions or a backwards pull. You’re looking towards the future but something is holding you back.

This can manifest as an argument or a tense moment where what you’re saying is not aligned with current events. Used creatively, this tension can be motivating. How badly do you want to be heard? Do you have the courage to speak out? 

Grand Water Trine

July 5th to 8th sees the third and final activation of a Grand Water Trine that began on June 1st/2nd (when Venus in Cancer trined Jupiter Rx in Scorpio and Neptune Rx in Pisces) and June 19th/20th with Mercury in Cancer. Now the Cancer Sun lights things up, and the same themes will continue – emotional flow that can be soothing and abundant, or stagnant and undermining. Whatever groove has been established will feel natural, but it’s up to you to recognize if it’s healthy or not. Where is the path of least resistance taking you? You always have a choice to step off if it’s not going to a good place. Then again, if everything is unfolding nicely, you can take full advantage of this gift. 

Chiron Rx

Chiron stations Rx in Aries (2 deg) on July 5th. Seems like he entered Aries not so long ago (April 17th) and now he’s backing up. This retrograde can intensify a wound/painful battle (if his reverse motion brings him closer to your planet/angle/point) or the pain can temporarily ease (if he’s backing away from your planet/angle/point).  

As I noted in this post:

” Chiron in Aries will be about confronting, then fighting to make progress, as a way of healing. Note that “healing” does not mean the Chiron wound magically vanishes. It never goes away. But you can learn to live with it, and by doing this, you gain compassion for yourself and others.” 

So intensification may not be a bad thing. And if the issue fades, don’t assume it’s gone forever. Chiron will eventually station direct and return to this degree around March 2019. 

The plus side of Chiron is that he can magnetize others because he draws attention to what’s unique. Since Rx motion can concentrate certain issues, this may be your chance to be the torchbearer for an issue that no one else has the courage to touch.  

Note that Mars (Arie’s ruler) is also Rx, so that assertive energy is not readily available. A different kind of boldness is called for – perhaps a courageous look at yourself, or admitting to a “weakness.” Acknowledging that you’re hurting or that the mental/physical issue is real and requires treatment requires a different kind of bravery.  

Aries

This could be creative work, a time of celebration or romantic thoughts, but there will be a turning point where you’re motivated (or challenged by someone else) to say it. Intensified public pressure or delays could be part of the picture. The underlying theme is something that you’re proud to speak about – something that’s unique to you.
