You won’t get it perfect today. You’ll be challenged to help/care/nurture the best you can, when it feels like your best attempts are being blocked.

Mercury in Virgo opposes Chiron Rx in Pisces and makes a sharp inconjunct to Uranus Rx in Aries, at 24 degrees. Digging for the truth behind the flaw will trigger unexpected results. There may be harsh criticisms, or the impulsive urge to correct someone. If you see something that’s just begging for improvement, take note. Acknowledge the issue, but know that you won’t be able to say the perfect thing that makes it all better. And, someone else may not be interested in your helpful suggestions.

Saturn in Sagittarius makes an inconjunct to Vesta, at 9 degrees Cancer. Vesta’s devotion to an emotional or security issue is blocked by Saturn’s external obligations/rules. The pressure to care for someone can feel impossible. Where there’s resistance, know that you need to step back and accommodate outside rules and your focus. It will be uncomfortable, but necessary.

New Moon Eclipse in Virgo: The Saturn/Neptune Publishing House

The September 1st New Moon eclipse (at 9 degrees Virgo) is all about the Saturn/Neptune square. New beginnings will be based on the square’s shifting versions of reality. Your eyes may have to adjust to these freshly printed truths.

The Sun and Moon will square Saturn in Sagittarius and oppose Neptune Rx in Pisces. Everything I wrote about here  , has been building through August. And maybe as far back as November 2015, when the square first took shape. This eclipse will be the cherry on top of the sundae that’s been melting and freezing, melting and freezing.

The new facts (Virgo) will be the results of old ideas/structures dissolving, and new potentials gelling. This process is anxiety-making. As I wrote in an earlier post:

“Squares create discomfort, and this square will make you uncomfortable because you’ll be confronting an illusion, or fear. Or both….trying to fight under a Neptune square is tricky. The target can shift and dissolve.”

It won’t be a triumphant eclipse. There will be some humbling. This is Virgo, after all. You may have to give something up. But, if you’ve held fast in the face of dissolving evidence, insisting that your faith was aligned with the right thing, this eclipse might prove you correct. Not with a blast of trumpets, but with a quiet *click* as the confirmation arrives. But this will only happen if you’ve been tuned into the real deal. If you’ve been trying to prop up a fantasy…get ready to say goodbye.

The Mars/Saturn conjunction from August 24th, and Mars/Neptune square from August 26th, will also be featured, as Mars will still be close to Saturn/Neptune. Which takes us back to August 13th, when Saturn stationed direct at the degree it conjoined Mars. Or, back to April 17th, when Mars stationed Rx. Any or all of these dates could hold an important clue about what will go down, during the eclipse. The Mars trigger could involve work that needs to be completed, or action/anger that’s been denied and undermined. Mars battling Saturn/Neptune is like running on shifting sand dunes. And yet, you find a way to move forward.

Before we get too discouraged, let’s take note that Mercury Rx (ruler of this eclipse) will be very close to Jupiter in Virgo, at 28 degrees. That’s some good news (due to a review or repeat), no matter what the eclipse brings. This harkens back to August 22nd, when Mercury direct first conjoined Jupiter (another key date with an eclipse hint).

The facts will be hopeful, or at least helpful. Jupiter rules Sagittarius, so there’s an indication that you can grow within Saturn’s new realities. Jupiter always means expansion, and Neptune is also an expansive influence. Any losses or restrictions were just side-effects of you being shifted into a new position. Now that you’re correctly aligned, you can move onwards and upwards.

Finally, this eclipse is aligned with the Virgo North Node/Pisces South Node. The bigger picture is about new facts/information pointing you forward so you can develop something whose time has come. The future is real, and this eclipse will give you a guidebook, hot off the Saturn/Neptune press.

You’ll notice the multiple dates connected to this eclipse. In true Mutable fashion, its impact has been unfolding in layers. To clarify, I’ll give you a list. The dates before September 1st have provided clues about what the eclipse will bring. The dates after September 1st will indicate possible delayed eclipse events, or information yet to be uncovered. An additional layer may unfold, but for now (September 1st) it’s not quite ready. A prime example is the Full Moon eclipse in Pisces, later in September.

Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius: Electric Download

Reminder about tomorrow’s eclipse…

The August 18th Full Moon Lunar eclipse hits 25 degrees Aquarius. There’s some debate as to whether it’s an actual eclipse or just a Full Moon. The Earth’s shadow will brush up against the edge of the Moon, and will not be visible. Either way, it’s going to be a culmination, perhaps a little less than a eclipse, but a little more than a regular Full Moon.

The big news is the Yod that’s tied in with this lunation. The Aquarius Moon makes a sextile to Uranus Rx, at 24 degrees Aries. The Moon and Uranus make inconjuncts to Jupiter in Virgo, at 25 degrees. Uranus is the ruler of this eclipse/Full Moon, so the energy of liberation and surprise will be emphasized. Even though this is a culmination based on the past month or so, the results may be unexpected. Moon sextile Uranus is very supportive for a fresh breakaway. A clean break, perhaps. The Leo Sun’s trine to Uranus feeds the fire of innovation and courage.

Whatever happens, there should be a sense of “I can do this!”

But that Yod to Jupiter. When it’s the focal point, you can expect exaggerated reactions/endings. Jupiter will be your key – the task or reason or next step. In Virgo, we can assume something involving information, solutions, or improvements. And Jupiter will conjoin Mercury (at 23 degrees) so maybe a very educational conversation or announcement.

What you learn during this Full Moon will be instrumental in your next step to freedom. What you learn may surprise you.

The tension of the inconjuncts lie in the disconnect between practical Virgo and the freedom-seeking Moon/Uranus sextile. You may want to burn that bridge and jet off into the future. And this lunation certainly encourages a leap into the future. But that leap must be based on careful application of knowledge. There will be words of wisdom, or an understanding, that you’ll need to ground yourself with.

The Uranus/Aquarian energy may be a bit much for some to handle. You could be left breathless, as understanding is wrenched wide open (Uranus delivers clarity via shock). Jupiter asks you to expand on what you already know, using this electric download. But do it carefully. If you’re caught off guard, take a breath. Consider the facts. Your goal is to focus this eclipse’s sparkling, volatile energy into something that makes sense.

Four Reasons to Love a Capricorn

Excerpt from my latest Sasstrology article:

If you want a partner who is smart, disciplined and in control, Capricorn is the one you’re looking for. Mr. or Ms. Saturn knows exactly what they want, and if that includes a relationship with you, he or she will make it their mission to achieve that goal. If you fall for a Capricorn, you’ve fallen for someone who takes love very seriously. This relationship is for adults only. Are you in?”

Overview

Venus in Virgo opposes Neptune Rx on August 14th and conjoins the North Node on August 15th. As Venus separates from the squeeze of the Saturn square, the Neptune opposition may enhance new possibilities, or distract you. But the overall feel will be expansion, which will leave room for North Node potentials to be activated. Venus and the North Node present real solutions/improvements that point you towards the future. Venus’ trine to Pluto Rx in Capricorn on August 17th adds fuel to North Node potentials, giving you intensified focus, determination and a sense of purpose to keep moving in the right direction.

August 16th sees an innovative trine between Uranus Rx in Aries and the Leo Sun. This leads us to the August 18th “almost” Full Moon eclipse in Aquarius, with Uranus strongly featured. Freedom, surprise and flashes of hot clarity will be part of this eclipse. So will a Yod (finger of God) pointing to Jupiter in Virgo. Jupiter will receive an inconjunct from Uranus and the Aquarius Moon. The urge to break away or start fresh will be exaggerated, but the surge of energy will have to be focused through practical wisdom, knowledge and improvements (Virgo). Jupiter says this culmination will result in growth, but it has to make sense in real life. Your real life.

Mercury in Virgo will be close to Jupiter, and the conjunction will be exact on August 22nd, possibly delaying the immediate effects of the eclipse to this date. Whatever surprises this lunation throws at you, they’ll lead to positive information/insight. Ultimately, it will be about making the smart choice, giving the right answer, or accepting the truth and working with that. Virgo wants you to do better – this is about upgrading or purifying. The message this eclipse delivers could be your Annunciation.

Aries:

Aspects to Venus in your sector of routine can trigger a brief spurt of laziness. Routines and discipline may slide, but if you hold the focus on a work or health potential, there could be significant rewards. You’re *this close* to making significant progress on a self-improvement issue. Relationships with co-workers can shift in a favourable direction.

The eclipse hits your social sector, triggering surprising results with friends, groups or your public image. Uranus Rx in your sign will play a pivotal role, emphasizing social freedom or separation from the group. Events can feel larger than life, but the Yod to Jupiter in your sector of routine brings it back to your daily details. Work tasks, health and practical improvements will be key. These developments can lead to a solution or leap of understanding.

Taurus:

Aspects to Venus in your sector of self-expression can accelerate a new attraction/romance, or personal desire. What you’ve been hoping for can progress quite nicely, along with a boost to your confidence and creative energy. Get the most from this energy by looking at how you can improve the situation, even if everything seems set: small adjustments will make a huge difference. Don’t take these happy developments for granted.

The eclipse in your career sector can bring the results of changes that have been building, but you may still be surprised at the outcome. A job ending, beginning or shift in direction may open your eyes to something you hadn’t anticipated. A break with tradition could be part of the picture. The Yod to Jupiter in your sector of self-expression indicates that you can spin these changes in your favour. There could be a significant opportunity to get more publicity for your work, announce your intentions, or pursue a dream job. No matter how it shakes out, your task is to expand on the work that you’ve done, and the talents that you have. Keep pushing your skills/efforts to the next level.

Gemini:

Aspects to Venus in your domestic sector suggest progress on home improvements, a home business, or home finances. Family relationships can also each a turning point. For some, there may be disappointments or adjustments in expectations regarding career and future plans.

The eclipse in your sector of opportunities can gift you with a lucky chance or breakthrough in the areas of long- distance travel, education, legal matters or publishing. Too, previously laid plans in these areas can take an unexpected left turn. The Yod to Jupiter in your domestic sector indicates that big picture developments must be in put in perspective via home and family. The leap of faith, adventure or exploration will contribute expansion/improvement your daily life. Relocation may suddenly be an issue, or plans to relocate may need to be adjusted.

Cancer:

Aspects to Venus in communication sector can up your negotiation power, while cueing you into an important message, contact or relationship. The key message may be something that you have to deliver, but there’s a risk of overinflated expectations. Make sure you’re delivering the basic facts (don’t over promise) and if you’re on the receiving end, keep your hopes in line with reality.  It can be easy to read too much into romantic/flirtatious comments.

The eclipse in your sector of shared resources can bring a shot of clarity regarding debts, taxes, loans, your partner’s finances or physical/emotional intimacy. Something could accelerate or end before you feel ready, but the Yod to Jupiter in your communication sector insists that you have all the information you need to make it work. These influences will broaden your understanding of a key issue, by gifting you with a lump sum of new facts and figures. Remain open- minded, and get ready to speak up about what you’re learned. Open discussion and translation of events (into something that everyone can understand) will be crucial.

Leo:

Aspects to Venus in your sector of personal resources can present shifting financial or emotional potentials. Something tempting could urge you to spend or overindulge. Enjoy yourself within reason, but know that there’s more happening here – keep your eyes open for an opportunity to solidify a lucrative financial/emotional situation. You should have a clearer understanding of exactly what you want and how to get it. Financial discussions can work in your favour, if you stay focused and grounded.

The eclipse in your partnership sector can introduce you to someone new and exciting, or give an existing relationship an electrical charge. A beginning or ending will seemingly come out of nowhere (even though events have actually been building for the past month). The Yod to Jupiter in your sector of personal resources can trigger exaggerated security needs. Whether events are positive or upsetting, you may respond by demanding/expecting more. There is potential for positive growth (even if there’s an ending – think freedom to do what you really want) but make sure you stay grounded in the present and focus on building up what you already have. Take it step by step. A business partnership could promise encouraging financial growth, but make sure you don’t skip any steps.

Virgo:

Aspects to Venus in your sign can align you with a solid new potential, whether it be creative, romantic, self-improvement or financial. As you turn away from undermining beliefs/habits/relationships, you’ll discover that you’re already heading in the right direction, almost by accident.

The eclipse in your sector of routine can accelerate a work or health situation. Routines may be disrupted, but the clarity and fast-track potential for improvement will be invaluable. The Yod to Jupiter in your sign says that this is your chance to take those changes/disruptions, and run with them. The unexpected solution, diagnosis or loophole can catapult you forward into something better. Don’t be content to sit with the changes. There are practical uses for what you’ve learned. New developments could give you something significant to announce.

Libra:

Aspects to Venus in your hidden sector can clue you into a valuable new potential that’s not obvious. Something in the background is worth your attention, even if that means releasing an illusion or groundless hope. You may have to feel you way forward with this one.

The eclipse in your sector of self-expression could present a surprise, in the areas of new romance, children/pregnancy, or creative work. You may be thrust into the spotlight, or get more attention than you bargained for. The Yod to Jupiter in your hidden sector suggests that this can all feed into the background dream or potential that you’ve been working on. Even if you’re not consciously aware of it, something behind the scenes is gaining prominence. Pay attention to how the events of this eclipse point to more, beneath the surface. Make your next step an intelligent one by following your intuition. You may need to temporarily pull back in order to understand what’s happened.

Scorpio:

Aspects to Venus in your social sector can put you in contact with a significant friend or romantic potential. Strategic meetings and selective cultivation of certain relationships will position you nicely. Remember to keep your feet on the ground and don’t get distracted by brief compulsions.

The eclipse in your domestic sector can stir things up at home. Family issues may hit suddenly, or there may be an unforeseen change (relocation, home repairs). Too, there may be a family celebration. The Yod to Jupiter in your social sector suggests changes at home are part of the bigger, public picture. There may be a push to make a public announcement, but choose your words carefully. The impact on others (and your reputation) will be significant. If you can’t see the connection between public and private, consider how breaking away from the past (even if it’s in the form of a celebration) will impact your growth into the future (goals, ideals, allies).

Sagittarius:

Aspects to Venus in your career sector can put you in the right place/right time, regarding a job, your professional image, business opportunity or professional relationship. Stay sharp and be ready with the specifics about why you’re the best person for the job. Home, family or past issues may provide undermining distractions: don’t get sucked back into the old habits.

The eclipse in your communication sector can provide an unexpected flash of clarity, an announcement or conversation.  You may be pushed to speak up before you feel ready, even though this has been building for awhile. The Yod to Jupiter in your career sector asks you to consider how this new information/answer can work for you. There’s something here that you can use to advance your ambitions, or to draw attention to what you’re trying to promote. Think strategically.

Capricorn:

Aspects to Venus in your sector of opportunities can present the next piece of the puzzle, regarding travel, education, legal matters, long -distance romance or publishing. A lucky break, random contact or bright idea may be all it takes. Keep an open mind and consider something/someone totally different. Venus trine Pluto Rx in your sign can confirm your next step while quietly enhancing your confidence.

The eclipse in your sector of personal resources can provide a few jolts regarding earned money, savings or self-esteem. Unexpected expenses could be issues…so could unexpected sources of income. Your feelings of security could be rattled, but the Yod to Jupiter in your sector of opportunity says this is a good thing. New developments will compel you to look up, and broaden your concept of where you’re going. If finances are an issue, it may be time to reevaluate your journey, or adjust your expectations. Too, there may be an unexpected windfall that you could apply to a trip or ongoing development. Spend it wisely and invest in the areas with the most growth potential.

Aquarius:

Aspects to Venus in your sector of shared resources can enhance an intimate moment or encourage you to trust someone.  A new possibility could open up regarding shared finances (debts, taxes, loans, your partner’s finances). It may be time to release afinancial habit/drain on your resources – small adjustments in the way you spend/save can make a significant difference. Too, a request to help someone financially may come up.

The eclipse in your sign will deliver results, and the speed or intensity may surprise you. Even if you saw this coming, expect the unexpected. Your freedom (perhaps liberation from an ongoing situation) will be key. The Yod to Jupiter in your sector of shared resources urges you to look beneath the surface of what’s happened. You can get more out of this if you consider how a relationship, psychological or financial issue can grow/progress. External freedom means liberation on a deeper level.

Pisces:

Aspects to Venus in your partnership sector can introduce a significant new relationship, or dissolve the ties of an old, outdated one. The path forward in your love life is clearly marked. It involves specifics: real, measurable strategies and evidence, rather than vague hopes or illusions.

The eclipse in your hidden sector can illuminate a secret or potential that’s been hiding in your blind spot. The shock of clarity can be refreshing, and can suddenly free you up to move in a totally new direction. While you may initially feel rattled, this is actually positive for building long-term security. The Yod to Jupiter in your partnership sector urges you to reflect on how this radical clarification can improve your love life. Whether you’re single or involved, aim to expand beyond what you’ve always settled for.

Saturn Direct in Sagittarius and Venus in Virgo

Saturn in Sagittarius stations direct, at 9 degrees on August 13th. The ever-shifting Saturn/Neptune square goes through another adjustment. What was put on hold when Saturn stationed Rx will move forward. The rules, the truth, have been redefined. Or, your understanding has changed, due to Saturn Rx’s intensified reality check.

Venus in Virgo squares Saturn Rx, defining your first task. A deficiency will be revealed and you’ll be able to implement a major correction. Relationships or habits that have been eroding your self-esteem can be tightened up. Or deleted. Saturn is about boundaries.

Venus heads into an opposition with Neptune Rx (11 degrees Pisces) on August 14th, and crosses the North Node, on August 15th. After the Saturn squeeze, there’s relief and a clue that you’re heading in the right direction. As ruler of the Pisces South Node, Neptune opposing Venus asks you to release old patterns of guilt, victimization and addiction. Why are you punishing/sacrificing yourself? Why are you trying to fix something that’s beyond repair? You’re not helpless, and your future lies in the opposite direction of what you’ve been pining after. A conjunction between Venus and the North Node in Virgo points you towards your healthiest relationship or financial option. It helps you make the most discerning choice about your future happiness.
