Overview

The December 11th inconjunct between Mercury in Scorpio and Uranus Rx in Aries is a repeat of December 2nd, but this time Mercury is direct. Once again you’ll be dealing with a sharp exposure or unexpected realization plus the tension between words that are held back (Mercury in Scorpio) versus the push to wrench everything out into the open (Uranus).

This trigger will lead to Mercury’s ingress into Sagittarius on December 12th, which can feel like a burst of intellectual/verbal freedom after Mercury’s time in compressed, intense Scorpio. Mercury last visited Sag on October 31st (before it turned Rx) so this will be another activation of potentials from that date. Now, after the entire retrograde process of reviews, questions and delays, you can surge ahead with the knowledge and perspective you’ve gained.

December 16th delivers a harmonious sextile between Saturn in Capricorn and Venus in Scorpio. This influence is so quiet that it might slip past you, but it can be a valuable opportunity to see some rewards for your hard work. Here is the small but significant relationship or financial commitment  – a confirmation of what you want that may not be flashy, but it will mean something. Venus in Scorpio has depth and staying power while Saturn adds stability.

Aries

Mercury in your sector of shared resources makes an inconjunct to Uranus Rx in your sign, triggering a reveal of private info. A realization or disruptive conversation involving debts, taxes, loans, your partner’s finances or intimacy will be connected to events from December 2nd, but now there should be a final understanding of what was previously buried.

This knowledge can liberate you as Mercury enters your sector of opportunities. Now that your eyes have been opened, it’s time to look further ahead at travel, education, legal matters, publishing or exploration. Watch for something more to look forward to. Mercury previously entered this sector on October 31st, so you may be reactivating issues from that time.

Venus in your sector of shared resources sextile Saturn adds a subtle but effective point of financial or emotional stability. Future goals or professional guidelines can offer support and focus, allowing you to develop hidden or shared resources. This favours planning for the future with a partner or getting your debts/taxes in line.

Taurus

Mercury in your partnership sector inconjunct Uranus Rx revisits a surprising or clarifying discussion from December 2nd. A reveal that you or your partner didn’t see coming can accelerate further developments, as Mercury enters your sector of shared resources. Now is the time to look behind the scenes at shared finances, intimacy or some uncomfortable truths. Mercury previously entered this sector on October 31st, so now you are once again going deeper, but this time you’ll complete the behind-the-scenes-exploration. This could be about the truth behind the truth, or alternative ideas to a seemingly issue.

Venus in your partnership sector sextile Saturn suggests mutual goals (involving travel, education, legal matters or publishing) can be a point of reassurance. There may be something you and your partner can both agree on – it will take work and commitment, but that’s how you build something solid for the future. This can also apply to issues of faith.

Gemini

Mercury in your sector of routine inconjunct Uranus Rx can reveal a surprising error, overlooked fact or diagnosis (in a work or health context). While this may be disruptive, it shouldn’t be a total surprise – you first glimpsed this around December 2nd. Now is your chance to address it or correct it. As Mercury enters your partnership sector, watch for a more balanced exchange of information between you and another – discussions in a relationship can open up, or you could experience a more equitable exchange of information with someone you work with. Mercury previously entered this sector on October 31st, so this exchange may have already begun, but was interrupted. Now it can move forward  as you experience the full benefits of cooperation.

Venus in your sector of routine sextile Saturn favours improved relationships with co-workers, an increased sense of stability in your daily life or an easier flow of focus in a new work or health regime. Gradually applying boundaries and structure can solidify desired developments or confirm assistance and priorities.

Cancer

Mercury in your sector of self-expression inconjunct Uranus Rx can trigger an unexpected statement from you, in a bid for attention. Too, you could receive some surprising news that’s a mix of exciting, jarring and pleasurable. You first caught wind of this around December 2nd. Results will be quite public and may involve your work or professional reputation. As Mercury enters your sector of routine, your attention will shift to new/expansive approaches to health and/or work. Mercury first entered this sector on October 31st, and now you can revisit the issue with a clearer sense of the necessary corrections, improvements and priorities. Previously missing details may now be available.

Venus in your sector of self-expression sextile Saturn can solidify a desired objective (involving a new attraction, partnership, creative work, a celebration or children/pregnancy). However, this is not a dramatic influence – watch for a calm sense of commitment, support from another or assurance that you are on the right track. It will not involve applause, just a quiet confirmation.

Leo

Mercury in your domestic sector inconjunct Uranus suggests surprising info from the past that’s abruptly revealed in the present. Family discussions or details about a home business, buying/selling/renting a home can trigger a rapid update, although you will have first encountered this on December 2nd. The source of the disruption (or clarification) can be a legal matter, education or foreign issue.

As Mercury enters your sector of self-expression you could experience a tremendous release or surge of hope/confidence. There could be good news, a reason to celebrate or more to look forward to. Too, this could be about you deciding to speak out. Mercury first entered this sector on October 31st, giving you a taste of freedom or boldness, and now you can move forward with this.

Venus in your domestic sector sextile Saturn offers a touch of stability via disciplined routines or attention to obligations. Certain rules must be followed, or a strict focus must be applied regarding a work, health or mundane matter. Stick to the plan and watch a subtle but important improvement in home and family matters.

Virgo

Mercury in your communication sector inconjunct Uranus Rx can deliver a shocking answer or abrupt truth. Or, you could be the one speaking out about an issue. You may have first encountered this around December 2nd, when a hidden or intimate reveal (involving shared finances, a partner or your own psychological processes) challenged your sense of control or fixed opinions. Now you’ll hear it again or decide that it’s time to speak out. A set idea may be permanently shaken.

As Mercury enters your domestic sector, the above can reverberate into expanded discussions with family or more information about a home business, home security or issues from the past. Mercury first visited this sector on October 31st, and now you can now move forward with domestic discussions or family plans as you run with ideas  that have been on hold.

Venus in your communication sector sextile Saturn can gently support a favourable agreement. This could be a romantic commitment or confirmation/formalization of your creative efforts. Rewards or positive answers will depend on the work you’ve put into this.

Libra

Mercury in your sector of personal resources inconjunct Uranus Rx suggests a partner, competitor or significant messenger can disrupt your security (financial or emotional). A surprising reveal/answer (first encountered around December 2nd) can challenge your ideas about what you’re worth or what you want. Financial discussions can be bumpy but ultimately clarifying. Too, events could push you to step up and declare what’s non-negotiable.

As Mercury enters your communication sector, the above events can push you to learn more, ask for more or consider wider possibilities. Mercury first entered this sector on October 31st, but new ideas were put on hold. Now you can move forward with increased faith, hope and curiosity.

Venus in your sector of personal resources, sextile Saturn, is quiet encouragement to stay the course regarding a financial or emotional issue. Domestic responsibilities or increased focus on home/family can deliver rewards or allow you to solidify some resources.

Scorpio

Mercury in your sign inconjunct Uranus Rx can deliver a repeat challenge or surprise (first encountered around December 2nd). Changes involving health, work or daily routines can remind you that a fix or upgrade is necessary, even if it disrupts your ideas. On this second go ‘round, you may be surprised by the effectiveness of an improvement. Too, you may find that you’re speaking up unexpectedly.

As Mercury enters your sector of personal resources, the above events can trigger a more expansive view of finances, values and self-esteem. Mercury first entered this sector on October 31st, and now you can move forward with a financial discussion, new ideas for earned income or communicating the values/ideals that are most important to you.

Venus in your sign sextile Saturn suggests a quiet commitment, formal agreement or confirmation of something you want/love. This will not be a dramatic event. Rather, you’re looking at a reassuring answer or definition of what you’ve been working towards. Too, this could be about you/ your public image being taken more seriously. Respect depends on your ability to deliver on what you promised.

Sagittarius

Mercury in your hidden sector, inconjunct Uranus Rx, delivers a second jolt or forceful reveal of a secret (the first jolt came around December 2nd). Watch for a light to be shone on something you’ve been avoiding, denying or hiding. As Mercury enters your sign, it will be time to come out with it. Whether this is voluntary or not, you’ll be going public with what you know/realize. Mercury first entered your sign on October 31st, but due to its retrograde there were delays, take backs or a temporary retreat to reconsider. Now everything will be out in the open  – use this opportunity to make your voice heard or view something previously obscured in the clear light of day.

Venus in your hidden sector sextile Saturn will be a subtle influence as a background confirmation of something you want, crave or are developing is delivered. This could be a financial or emotional issue, and won’t result in great wealth or emotional fireworks. But the acceptance of certain responsibilities or the need to focus/restrain will result in stabilization and the manifestation of something for the future. This is a work in progress.

Capricorn

Mercury in your social sector inconjunct Uranus Rx can deliver a surprising encounter, conversation with a friend or public reveal/statement. This first came about on December 2nd, and now you’ll be confronting it again. As Mercury moves into your hidden sector, the above events may push you to step back, hold back or look behind the scenes at some truths. Mercury first entered this sector on October 31st, and now you’ll be moving forward with a deeper exploration of public reveals, or perhaps a deeper consideration of what you believe or who you put your faith in.

Saturn in your sign sextile Venus in your social sector can confirm a friendship, aspect of your public image or group association. Your commitment and focus can gain you public respect or solidify a new social opportunity. This isn’t glamorous, but it can be a nice moment of recognition for your work or maturity.

Aquarius

Mercury in your career sector inconjunct Uranus Rx can trigger an abrupt decision about your future or a surprising conversation with someone in authority. Even though you first dealt with this around December 2nd, this influence may be a final straw that pushes you into new territory or changes your future trajectory. As Mercury enters your social sector, you can gain a broader perspective and connect with more people who may be helpful in your next steps towards the future. Mercury first entered this sector on October 31st, but new contacts/opportunities may have been delayed due to Mercury’s retrograde. Now you can pick up where you left off. Excellent for a public launch, networking, or a public statement.

Venus in your career sector sextile Saturn offers a subtle moment of confirmation for a professional relationship, your professional image or something desired that you’ve been working towards. The confirmation itself may come from a hidden source or may be an instinctive feeling, but know that the sense of stability means you’re on the right track.

Pisces

Mercury in your opportunities sector inconjunct Uranus Rx can reveal a new and unusual development or urge you to take a risk. First encountered around December 2nd, issues involving travel, education, legal matters, publishing or exploration can once again draw your attention to something outside your comfort zone. Should you say it, agree to it or move forward? Change is here, but some caution is also needed. As Mercury enters your career sector, the above events can see you applying new ideas/visions to your professional future. Mercury previously entered this sector on October 31st, and now you can move forward with new opportunities from that time.

Venus in your opportunities sector sextile Saturn can quietly reassure you about a new and desired development. A long-distance romance, issues with travel, education, legal matters or publishing can feature a social commitment. This aspect can anchor you in unknown territory while encouraging you to develop it further.

December 9th, 2018: Chiron Direct Trine Mercury

  • Chiron stations direct (27 deg Pisces)

  • Mercury in Scorpio trine Chiron in Pisces (27 deg)

Chiron direct signals progress with a wound or vulnerability. Chiron stationed Rx in Aries on July 5th and backed into Pisces on September 25th, so since these dates you have been dealing with old hurts. Perhaps issues you didn’t want to confront.

Chiron direct means the trip down memory lane is over and you can progress. But in order to do that you must acknowledge the wound before you can release it. Here to help is a trine from Mercury in Scorpio – deep honesty, a look at secrets/shadow issues or perhaps an intimate conversation. This is your guide through the pain, and the trine means it should happen naturally – the words should come easily.

Mercury previously trined Chiron on December 4th (when Mercury was Rx) so this topic is not new. And this is all part of the Grand Water Trine (including the Cancer North Node) that’s been active since December 2nd. Communication and information (Mercury) are the keys that will unlock the flow.

Maybe this is the time you apologize, say goodbye, acknowledge a release, forgive yourself or get honest about a weakness. Mercury in Scorpio speaks the deepest truths.

December 8th, 2018: Lilith’s Strategies

  John White Alexander

John White Alexander

  • Pallas in Libra trine Black Moon Lilith in Aquarius (13 deg)

  • Pallas in Libra inconjunct Neptune in Pisces (13 deg)

Pallas in Libra is relationship strategies, and BML in Aquarius is the rebellious, powerful woman who disrupts the status quo. When the two harmonize, Lilith has some sharp strategies that allow her to make savvy changes within a social context.

Libra is one-on-one and Aquarius is the group, so this tells us that taboo or shocking women’s issues will reach across all social levels. But the taboo content will be well received by others – what’s usually unacceptable can be delivered in a balanced way (Pallas in Libra is the graceful battle plan).

However, Pallas’ inconjunct to Neptune is a caution to ground these strategies in the real world. It will be easy to get carried away with a higher mission and forget that this involves real people. At the same time, don’t lose sight of the fact that forgiveness and acceptance must be factored into this. Pure strategy without compassion (in this case) can be quite chilly.

December 7th, 2018: Flow

Photo by Artem Bali from Pexels

  • Mercury in Scorpio trine the Cancer North Node (27 deg)

  • Mars conjunct Neptune in Pisces (27 deg)

Mercury/North Node continues the flow of the Grand Water Trine that’s been in force since December 2nd. Mercury Rx previously trined the North Node on December 4th, and this second hit could manifest as a confirmation of what you’ve been questioning/investigating/contemplating. Watch for a messenger (in the guise of a person, clue or internal realization) to confirm that you’re on the right path as the dots connect easily and instinctively. Profound truths align with emotional progress – the deeper you look, the more progress you’ll make.

Continuing the energy of flow, the Mars/Neptune conjunction indicates a new beginning with actions (Mars) that transcend limits, reality or boundaries. Neptune eases the passage by dissolving barriers, so you can slide into something new or slip past defences. The dream (Neptune) is energized (Mars) and actions can be sacred (as you reach towards a higher power) or undermining (as you wander down the path of addiction or avoidance).

Watch where you step – motivations can be blurry. The situation can waver and go either way. What do you want to accomplish?

This conjunction is a crucial part of the Sagittarius New Moon.

December 6th, 2018: Mercury Direct

Photo by Timotej Nagy from Pexels

  • Mercury stations direct (27 deg Scorpio at 4:21 PM EST)

Mercury concludes its retrograde this afternoon, moving ahead and signalling progress in all matters of communication and information. Rx since November 16th, Mercury direct will reactivate 27 to 29 deg Scorpio and 0 to 13 deg Sagittarius. This reactivation (also known as the shadow period) will take you to December 24th, so you may still be discussing the same issues or looking (again) at the same truths/lies.

But Mercury is direct now, and that counts for something. There should be clarification. You can be confident that the repeat issue you’ve been chewing on is winding down.

Mercury direct in Scorpio will ask you to move forward with what you’ve dug up (secrets, taboos, the things no one else wanted to confront) and Mercury direct in Sag will ask you to take it further- expand on it, look at the bigger possibilities, apply what you’ve learned to the promise or story. Does the ideal still hold up now that you’ve done your research or glimpsed the underside?

Mercury direct may start off quietly, because it’s still in dark, private Scorpio (Scorpio’s power comes from holding back until the right moment). There may be whispers or unspoken confirmations – a pause before the strategic reveal. Once Mercury makes a jarring inconjunct to Uranus Rx in Aries on December 11th and re-enters Sagittarius on December 12th, things could get louder.

December 5th, 2018: Tensions to Consider

Photo by Luis Quintero from Pexels

Photo by Luis Quintero from Pexels

  • Sagittarius Sun square Neptune in Pisces (13 deg)

  • Venus in Scorpio square Vesta in Aquarius (2 deg)

Sun/Neptune is a harbinger of the December 7th New Moon. A square is a crisis aspect, and here we have a crisis between future opportunities/truth (Sun in Sag) versus the dream/lie/wish (Neptune). The overall energy is that of expansion, as Neptune dissolves limits and Sag wants to keep exploring, but the direction will be the issue.

What are you moving towards? How do expectations and truth align? There is a strong escapist vibe here, so make sure that you’re putting your faith in something that’s about elevation rather than avoidance.

Venus/Vesta triggers tension between a deep want/craving (involving relationships, money or values) versus a detached focus on the bigger picture. There’s something different to consider, and the contrast with an area of obsession (or a fixed desire) can make you aware of what needs to change and what needs to remain private or protected.
