February 10th, 2019: Move Forward and Keep Talking

  • Waxing Sextile between the Aries Moon and Aquarius Sun (21 deg)

  • Mercury in Aquarius square Juno in Taurus (29 deg)

  • Juno enters Gemini

The Waxing Sextile encourages you to start something new. It’s time to step into uncharted territory or break a couple of rules, but no one is going to push you. The opportunity is there and it may seem inconsequential, but don’t overlook it. Take one step forward and recognize how natural it feels.

This step forward can help you deal with the Mercury/Juno square. Mercury’s unconventional ideas/words will clash with Juno’s fixed partnership agreement. One person may be ready for something new while the other person wants things to remain as they are.

Well, it’s time for change and this is illustrated by Juno’s Gemini ingress, a few hours after this square. Juno into Gemini indicates that agreements and commitments can become more flexible as multiple options unfold. There’s more than one way to commit and open communication (Gemini is ruled by Mercury) will be key.

However, the tension with Mercury will continue as it enters Pisces on this day and (due to its Rx) repeats the square with Juno on March 24th and April 14th. More choices indicate that there’s more to discuss, but also more to disagree about. Accept that this will be an ongoing issue until April and be prepared to keep talking.

February 9th, 2019: A Day to be Honest

  • Mars in Aries square the Capricorn South Node/Cancer North Node (26 deg)

  • Mercury in Aquarius sextile Uranus in Aries (29 deg)

  • Mercury in Aquarius trine Pallas in Libra (29 deg)

Sun/BML carries forward themes from the February 4th New Moon: the outsider/taboo woman is in the spotlight. This energy illuminates issues of independence, alienation or power from being on the outside, all in the context of gender and sexual issues. The Sun can empower and add confidence, encouraging you to express a side of yourself that others may find shocking.

Mars’ square to the Nodes suggests that actions/anger will bring you to a turning point: will you stick with the old rules/repression (South Node) or will you move towards a place that honours your needs (North Node). Along with Sun/BML, this strongly favours honest expression of what’s passionate and vulnerable. This is not about lowering the hammer or trying to control all outcomes. The path forward is the Cancer North Node, which suggests strength in feeling and empathy.

Mercury’s aspects can help, as the sextile to Uranus encourages courageous free speech and the trine to Pallas indicates that this can actually support a social or relationship strategy. Despite the Uranus/Pallas opposition (an end or disruption to a relationship dynamic) Mercury’s harmonious aspects say that some cool, innovative ideas can smooth over any bumps. Change has arrived and a polite image or association will be disrupted. But if the words are delivered with calm detachment and logic others may see your point.

An awkward day with a couple of inconjuncts (aspects of incompatibility). The key with this aspect is to adjust both sides so they can work together.

February 7th, 2019: No Going Back

  • Mercury in Aquarius sextile Mars in Aries (25 deg)

  • Uranus in Aries opposite Pallas in Libra (29 deg)

Sun/Jupiter delivers buoyant energy that encourages you to have faith in something unique (including yourself). It’s ok to stand out, be yourself or take a risk, and judgements should be almost non-existent. Aquarius is very open-minded and Jupiter (in positive aspect) is all about benevolence.

Mercury/Mars adds to the above with assertive but not pushy words. The harmony of the sextile adds Mars’ aggressiveness in a manageable way, encouraging outspoken information that is delivered in an acceptable manner. Combined with Sun/Jupiter, today’s influences favour exploration, the communication of fresh ideas standing up for yourself with easy confidence.

However, Uranus (ruler of Aquarius) opposite Pallas does suggest that liberating moves will trigger some imbalances. Pallas in Libra’s polite social strategies will be upended, or even abruptly abandoned. Not a deal-breaker, but consider if any relationship plans, compromises or solutions have outlived their usefulness.

Note that this opposition (a culmination) takes places at 29 degrees (the final degree). This strongly points to the end of a social issue – you may be liberated or surprised, but either way there’s no going back. If this makes you uneasy, know that Jupiter’s influence suggests that this is a good thing.

February 6th, 2019: Discordant Nurturing

  • Moon in Pisces conjunct Vesta (2 deg)

  • Moon in Pisces sextile Venus in Capricorn (2 deg)

  • Moon in Pisces square Ceres in Sagittarius (3 deg)

The Moon emphasizes yesterday’s Venus/Vesta sextile:

“Venus in Capricorn is about strict and ambitious definitions for relationships, money or personal values. Vesta in Pisces focuses on transcendent or compassionate issues. When they harmonize, Vesta’s higher devotion loosens some of Venus’ rules – there can be more to what you want as judgements are released. “

Moon/Vesta suggests emotional devotion or focus on a specific issue that transcends reality. There’s a yearning for something higher. Venus adds a touch of practicality while keeping the energy calm and beautifully contained.

But the Moon/Ceres square suggests the above may be disrupted by discordant expressions of nurturing. Vague or spiritual needs are out of step with the belief about how care “should” be implemented. Although well-intentioned, Sag’s fiery enthusiasm can be too much for gentle Pisces. Nurturing may be too pushy.

Sag is about the belief of what’s true and right while Pisces simply “is.” If you’re attempting to nurture, consider what’s needed versus what you believe is best. If you’re the recipient of some pushy efforts, know that it’s ok to keep those boundaries in place.
