A new Sneak Peek Patreon post (for $5 Patrons) is up. It’s a monthly behind-the-scenes look at my thought processes when writing a particular blog post. This one is about the January 2nd Sun/Saturn conjunction, with some words about a manifestation ritual.

January 8th, 2019: Mercury in Capricorn Square Mars

  • Mercury in Capricorn square Mars in Aries (4 deg)

Mercury in Capricorn’s verbal/written rules are challenged by Mars’ actions or anger. This is a crisis aspect – edgy conversations or tense discussions may not explode into fully-blown arguments because Capricorn keeps things under control. But the tension will be there.

If your authority is challenged, know that the more you clamp down the more aggressive the push will be. If you’re the challenger, your impulses may be blocked by an authoritative “ No.”

The square always draws our attention to what must be changed, so either the rules are outdated or the upstart challenge needs to be smacked down and boundaries reinforced.

Either way, don’t expect smooth discussions and be prepared to defend or reinforce.

In some cases, actions will be out of alignment with words – what does this mean for you? Do you need to emphasize your point or reconsider your battle?

Venus’ Transit of Sagittarius: Wanting More

Venus enters Sagittarius on January 7th, expanding possibilities for relationships, money, self-esteem and values. Exploration and optimism colour Venus-themed issues – freedom becomes important and what’s up ahead is attractive (the journey can be more appealing than the destination).

This is a transit that attracts more – you want more and you can get more. There’s a sense of adventure – who knows what might happen and isn’t that the point? This is the time to keep your eyes open and consider what might usually be “impossible”. Take a second look at the romantic prospect who’s not your type, or the source of income that’s unusual/exotic, or the situation that’s a bit outside your comfort zone but still appealing.

Of course, risk must be balanced with reward, but Venus in Sag can teach you about what you thought you wanted, or what you thought your talents/self-worth consisted of. The key is growth- saying “yes” to something bigger and better. Doing more with what you have or reaching beyond what you’ve always wanted and discovering something new that’s appealing.

Don’t limit yourself with what used to matter or what you’ve always attracted. This is the transit that encourages you to consider what lies in unexplored territory.

Here are the aspects Venus in Sag will make:

  • Jan 18th: trine Mars in Aries (11 deg)

  • Jan 20th: square Neptune in Pisces (14 deg)

  • Jan 22nd: conjunct Jupiter (16 deg)

  • Jan 25th: sextile Black Moon Lilith in Aquarius (19 deg)

  • Jan 31st: inconjunct the Cancer North Node (26 deg)

  • Jan 31st: inconjunct Juno in Taurus (26 deg)

  • Feb 2nd: trine Uranus in Aries (28 deg)

  • Feb 2nd: sextile Pallas in Libra (28 deg)

  • Feb 3rd: square Chiron in Pisces (29 deg)

  • Feb 3rd: Capricorn ingress

January 6th, 2019: Uranus Direct in Aries

  • Uranus stations direct at 28 deg Aries

Uranus direct continues the forward momentum that Mars into Aries and the January 5th New Moon eclipse started.

Uranus exited Aries for Taurus on May 15th, 2018 but then (due to its retrograde) re-entered Aries on November 6th, 2018. Since November, you may have experienced more shocks or shake -ups as any remaining areas of your life that needed to be liberated were given a kick.

Now you’re moving forward, as the last vestiges of the past have been burnt away. Watch for progress in an area requiring courage, initiative or brand new beginnings (perhaps dating all the way back to May 27th, 2010, when Uranus first entered Aries).

There will be a sense of urgency as Uranus powers through the last degrees of Aries, making its final exit on March 6th, 2019. In some cases, what began around May 2010 could end (this would only happen if the situation was meant to be your catalyst for change and nothing more). If something is leaving, you can’t stop it. If you feel increasing detachment from your current situation, this is timely. If your past is rapidly diminishing in the rearview mirror, this too is timely.

As you look back to 2010, consider how far you’ve come. What have you freed yourself from and where has your courage taken you?
