Uranus Returns to Taurus

  • Uranus enters Taurus (3:26 AM EST)

After a brief occupation from May 15th to November 6th, 2018, Uranus returns to Taurus for the long haul (until its final exit on April 25th, 2026).

This post gives you the basics on what this transit means, but here’s a quick cheat sheet (from that post) about what might happen when the planet of liberation hits the sign of stubborn habits, security and resources:

  • new values

  • new approach to money/security/survival/pleasure/self-esteem/beauty

  • disrupted habits

  • new physical expression

  • disruption of stagnation

  • liberation from suppression

  • detachment from possessions/possessiveness

  • upgrade of what’s stagnated

2018 offered an introduction. Did you experience any warning rumbles or hints that something fixed needed to change? Whatever began at that time will now continue and intensify (you’re most likely to have felt this if you have anything from 0 to 2 degrees of the Fixed or Earth signs).

Uranus is about what’s new, so all of the above can be boiled down to that concept. Some area of your life (wherever Taurus is located in your chart) is ready for an update. The strength of the update (whether it’s a cool opportunity to move in a new direction or a radical disruption) will depend on how ready you are to change and how entrenched a certain situation is. The stronger the disruption the more change is needed.

Since we have a Pisces New Moon today, you can also look at what’s happening around 15 deg Pisces in your chart – a new beginning there will be connected to Uranus’ big update. The contrasting energies are interesting: this New Moon (and Mercury Rx) is so vague and unproven and in flux. But there will be no mistaking what’s happening in Taurus. This speaks to many different layers of change – some are immediate and visible (Uranus) but the long-term outcome (and additional layers) will not be visible just yet.

Wondering how Uranus’ transit of Taurus might impact you? I’ve written an eBook about it, based on your house positions (you need to know your birth time so you can figure out which description in the book applies to you).

New Moon in Pisces: Believe In What You Can’t See

Arthur Hacker

Arthur Hacker

The March 6th New Moon (15 deg Pisces) conjoins Neptune and Vesta, giving these new beginnings an air of sacred devotion.

Vesta is about purity and absolute focus, and when she conjoins Neptune that focus is trained on something ephemeral, spiritual or transcendent. But since this is a New Moon we know things have only just begun, so the dream is still developing.

This Moon makes a sextile Saturn in Capricorn which can ground things, giving them form. It also activates the Saturn/Neptune sextile from January 31st:

“Saturn and Neptune make…three sextiles this year. Form (Saturn) harmonizes with what dissolves (Neptune) form for subtle but effective energy… you can make certain dreams real.

But Saturn and Neptune together also imply some kind of sacrifice. Specifically, Saturn’s reality puts limits on Neptune’s dreams. Even though the sextile is a harmonious aspect, there will still be a small sacrifice…

…if you tap into it with soft control, you can create something new (based on a pre-existing structure).

  • June 18th: Saturn Rx sextile Neptune (18 deg)

  • November 8th: Saturn sextile Neptune Rx (16 deg)”

The dates of the three sextiles are key for developments of this New Moon’s potential, because at the moment it is only potential. Saturn indicates there’s work/sacrifice needed, and Mercury in Pisces will station Rx the day before so information will be in flux. What’s beginning now will progress along a winding route that you won’t be able to map out from where you’re standing. Use Vesta’s focus to remind you of the ultimate, higher purpose and use Saturn’s discipline to make it happen. But accept that you will not be able to control how things manifest.

Also on this day we see Uranus returning to Taurus. Uranus first entered this sign on on May 15th, 2018 (and then backed out of Taurus on November 6th due to its Rx). So this New Moon will also be connected to events from May 15th, specifically an initial disruption to and upgrade of your resources, habits and security base. See this post for a detailed write up.

Events from May will be reactivated, and since Uranus will now be in Taurus until its final exit on April 25th, 2026, this tells us the New Moon’s beginnings will involve a permanent change to the Taurus area of your chart. Uranus adds to the sense that things will not be under your control- initially, it will be very difficult to make concrete plans and you’ll have to go with whatever’s happening.

Vesta/Neptune in Pisces is about an exalted belief that drives devotion – faith in what you can’t yet see. Remind yourself of this if things get blurry over the coming months. You may question (Mercury Rx) if what’s starting is real. Rest assured that it is (although the final form may be different from what you’re imagining). Saturn says it’s real. Uranus into Taurus says that not only is it real, it’s one of the more important things that’s ever come your way.

Wondering how Uranus’ transit of Taurus might impact you? I’ve written an eBook about it, based on your house positions (you need to know your birth time so you can figure out which description in the book applies to you).

March 5th, 2019: Mercury Stations Retrograde

  • Mercury stations Rx (29 deg Pisces)

  • Neptune conjunct Vesta in Pisces (6 deg)

Mercury stations retrograde in the final degree of Pisces. A dream, undefined agreement or meandering conversation that you thought was complete is anything but. There are more layers of truth (or lies) to be revealed as you look closely at the shifting facts.

Mercury Rx in Pisces can push you to search for what’s missing. You may return to a past dream, creative work or unreliable contact. Opinions can dissolve as if they were never there, and the search for an ultimate idea can intensify. This is a time to explore but not decide. A time to search and allow information to emerge, but not to pin anything down (yet). Expect confusion as certain people lie/deny/obfuscate. The truth will come out, but it will be a circuitous process.

Here are the aspects Mercury Rx will make:

  • Mar 10th: inconjunct Pallas Rx in Libra (27 deg)

  • Mar 14th: trine the Cancer North Node (24 deg)

  • Mar 14th: conjunct the Sun (24 deg)

  • Mar 15th: square Jupiter in Sagittarius (23 deg)

  • Mar 16th: sextile Pluto in Capricorn (22 deg)

  • Mar 17th: conjunct Vesta (21 deg)

  • Mar 17th: sextile Mars in Taurus (21 deg)

  • Mar 20th: sextile Saturn in Capricorn (19 deg)

  • Mar 24th: conjunct Neptune (16 deg)

  • Mar 24th: square Juno in Gemini (17 deg)

  • Mar 28th: stations direct (16 deg)

Neptune conjunct Vesta suggests Mercury’s Rx will be part of the search for a higher vision. Vesta is sacred devotion/focus and when combined with Neptune, that focus is trained on what transcends the current limits. So this Mercury Rx is about more than missing facts – the ultimate goal will involve something that’s sacred to you. It may take awhile to get there (there is no direct route through Pisces) but trust that it’s emerging.

Crises of belief are part of the process. What are you doubting? If everything is in flux, know that this is the way it’s meant to be for now. At the same time, keep track of that higher goal – what would you ultimately like to hear? That’s your guiding light.

March 4th, 2019: Optimistic Taboos

  • Moon in Aquarius sextile Jupiter in Sagittarius (22 deg)

  • Moon in Aquarius conjunct Black Moon Lilith (23 deg)

A powerful day for freedom, as the Moon is supported by expansive Jupiter. Adventure, independence and the open-minded consideration of anything (especially if it’s new) is favoured. Moon/Jupiter also brings optimism – it will feel as if things will work out, even though you have no proof or plan. But the sextile is harmonious, so this vibe won’t be exaggerated. Meaning, things shouldn’t get too crazy.

Building on this energy, the Moon/BML conjunction amplifies two sides of the feminine principle. The edgy and controversial facets of women’s sexuality and women’s roles in society are supported. Moon equals mother and BML is the opposite, and when they unite (in the detached sign of Aquarius) you have a new version of mother/woman whose identity is not defined by society.

This is a good day to consider different expressions of female energy that would normally be considered taboo or “weird” (according to polite society). Jupiter encourages you to do what feels good – focus on what’s positive and comfortable for you. Lift yourself up with your own truths, even if no one else approves (although Jupiter usually indicates ease in bringing the new forward to others).
