Black Moon Lilith’s Transit of Pisces

Black Moon Lilith enters Pisces. The dark woman becomes even more difficult to pin down in this watery, transcendent sign.

For those of you not familiar with BML, she is named after Adam’s first wife who was exiled from the Garden because she refused to submit to him. She is female, sexual energy that is taboo and rebellious – she is the outsider, the prostitute, the witch, the demon and the other woman. She reminds us that there is a price for stepping outside the lines – she’s powerful but exiled.

While she’s in Pisces, watch for tricky situations where the lines are blurred. She carries the rage of being rejected, but nothing is overt in Pisces. So you may be encouraged to deceptively take revenge or become embroiled in a situation that undermines you. Lilith in Pisces can become immersed in the illusion – the addiction to what’s unavailable, the use of sexual energy that seems empowering but is actually diminishing. She can become the victim.

Yes, she’s about female empowerment. But she has a dark side and to deny this is to ignore who she really is. If you deny her anger and desire for vengeance, you make yourself vulnerable to her distorted energy. This can be just as destructive as using her rage to hurt others. Like a wild animal, she should always be treated with cautious respect – you can’t domesticate her.

The highest expression of BML in Pisces would be to transcend the anger and forget about those who don’t accept you. Tap into this sign’s limitlessness and consider how Lilith’s positive energy (her independence, her symbolism of all that’s socially unacceptable but crucial) can be expanded in positive ways. Rise above the rules, forgive those who have wronged you and forgive yourself if you’re hanging onto feelings of guilt or failure for not conforming to the stereotypes of wife/mother/good girl.

This transit can also be excellent for getting to know her better, if you want – she’s moving through the Pisces area of your chart where there are no boundaries. All you have to do is let her in.

Black Moon Lilith will exit Pisces for Aries on Jan 27th, 2020.

May 2nd, 2019: Powerful Words

  • Mercury in Aries square Pluto Rx in Capricorn (23 deg)

  • Mercury in Aries trine Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius (23 deg)

Powerful words/thoughts today, as Mercury/Pluto indicates assertive (or bullying) communication that’s based on a deeper, unseen crisis involving loss of power. Whether you’re being confronted by someone who’s challenging your ideas, or you’re encountering a profound but upsetting revelation, know that there’s more beneath the surface. What you hear or read is not the whole story – pay attention to hidden motivations.

This energy can manifest as almost violently aggressive words – know that the real insistence comes from a deeper drive to reveal a truth in a distorted fashion. You can get a handle on this by becoming aware of what no one (including you) wants to openly acknowledge.

Mercury’s trine to Jupiter can amplify the push to dominate others (verbally) or expand your vision so you can see past the power struggle/fear. Jupiter increases optimism and enthusiasm, but with Pluto in the background there can be an unpleasant edge.

As always, it’s up to you how you handle this energy. Overall, this is favourable for delivering a forceful message that convinces others (whether they want to be convinced or not) but you’ll reap the benefits if you confront Pluto’s hidden issue. Jupiter gifts you with breadth (big ideas!) and Pluto brings depth, but the square is a crisis aspect, so the depth can only be accessed once you turn a difficult corner (have the hard convo, confront the ugly thought).

Note that Pluto and Jupiter are both Rx, so you may be returning to something from the past or focusing on one area that’s receiving an intensified push.

May 1st, 2019: Venus and Mars

  • Venus in Aries conjunct Vesta (12 deg)

  • Venus in Aries opposite Pallas Rx in Libra (13 deg)

  • Mars in Gemini inconjunct Saturn Rx/South Node in Capricorn (20 deg)

Venus

Venus/Vesta focuses on a key issue of aesthetics, relationships, money or values. The courage to try something new or stand up for what you want/love becomes a sacred matter. Vesta’s exclusive focus and Aries’ subjective energy means this issue should be primarily about you (even if someone else is involved). Are you attracting what reflects your courage? How does it feel to put yourself first?

This is about the independence to be or express what you want. Vesta’s purity is based on virginity (vestal virgins tended the sacred flame in Vesta’s temple) but the meaning of “virginity” was sexuality that did not belong to others. It was feminine energy that was self-contained and belonged to that woman alone.

As Venus opposes Pallas (in Venus-ruled Libra) this “me first” energy will challenge a relationship strategy. That’s ok, because there’s an imbalance that needs to be corrected. Something new is being introduced into the dynamics – something more assertive and selfish (selfish does not have to be a bad thing).

Mars

Mars’ flexible choices and fast-moving impulses are at odds with the Saturn/South Node ending. You may experience a block (from the past?) as you attempt to make something happen. You may feel pressured to choose a way to say goodbye.

With the inconjunct, you need to adjust both sides. Focus is needed, as is attention to the ending or responsibility. But don’t let this shut you down – keep moving and maintain your sense of curiosity and motivation. Some choices will be restricted, but you still have work to do.

April 30th, 2019: Saturn Conjunct the South Node

  • Saturn Rx conjunct the Capricorn South Node (20 deg)

Yesterday’s Saturn Rx underlines an ending as it meets up with the South Node. This is a powerful indicator of results from past rules, responsibilities or commitments.

A major ending or turning point is in play, but it will happen slowly. Saturn will conjoin the South Node two more times: on July 4th and September 28th. What’s crystalizing now is the first step in a process.

Some endings take more time because they have to be done correctly and thoroughly. You may need to attend to certain responsibilities before you say goodbye, or you may have to deal with rules/authority that you’ve been ignoring. Maturity is key – accept what’s happening, take care of what’s yours and say “No” to what’s no longer yours.

In some cases, you may be reconnecting with someone who has authority or with whom you feel responsible for. The energy will be heavy and unavoidable.

The door is slowly swinging shut and the clock is running down – the time has arrived to get it done and move on. Yes, you have a few months to work through it, but it needs to start now. This is not something you can rush.

April 29th, 2019: Saturn Retrograde

  • Waning Sextile between the Pisces Moon and Taurus Sun (9 deg)

  • Saturn stations retrograde in Capricorn (20 deg)

Waning Sextile

As the Moon’s light fades and we approach a Taurus New Moon next month, the sextile gently enables a transition by dissolving old habits/routines and leaving room for something new. This part of the Moon’s phase is never demanding- there’s a gentle nudge in the right direction, but you can easily ignore it.

Consider what feels like it’s naturally fading, and let it go. Watch for new, solid opportunities on the horizon that involve a way to make dreams/hints a reality.

Saturn

Saturn Rx can mean a few things:

  • the revision of a rule

  • the return to previous limit

  • emphasis on a specific responsibility or tradition

  • a temporary loosening of restrictions

You’ll quickly know what scenario applies to you (you may know already). A revision or return means unfinished business that must be completed. If you feel like you’re being dragged back against your will, there’s a reason it’s happening- you can’t avoid it so you might as well do the work. What needs to end, permanently? What responsibilities must you accept or say “No” to? What boundaries need to be strengthened?

It’s interesting that this is happening on the same day as the Waxing Sextile, because it underlines a specific area of that transition. Saturn Rx can define what the Waxing Sextile is hinting at.

A temporary loosening can be used to prepare yourself for the pressures that will reoccur in the future. Don’t slack off.

Saturn’s Rx will cover 20 to 13 deg Capricorn, stationing direct on September 18th, 2019 at 13 deg.
