  • Mars in Libra square Saturn in Capricorn (15°)

This aspect is about blocked actions that trigger an imbalance of authority. Social rules and traditions may be oppressive, and the crisis manifests as a Waning Square. This means immediate actions are not appropriate, but questions are.

Even if you wanted to take action, I don’t think you could. But pay attention to the discomfort and questions that are raised. How does the imbalance of authority affect you? What can you do to correct that imbalance? There are certain limits that you simply cannot push past-will you continue to obey them? What compromises can you make?

Is the effort worth it? If it is, what are you willing to endure?

This can be a very frustrating aspect that signifies repressed anger or a fruitless struggle. There will be something unfair about what’s happening. This aspect will relate back to the Mars/Saturn conjunction at 8° Capricorn on April 2nd, 2018. That is when this issue began, with focused efforts, ambition or a need for extra work. Now you’re nearing the end of this cycle with questions about the rules versus your efforts. Think back to the beginning, about what you were trying to make real.

New Moon in Scorpio

The October 27th New Moon (4 deg Scorpio @11:38 PM EDT) opposes Uranus RX in Taurus. An opposition is and ending or result, and Uranus is the planet of surprise and liberation. So we have a new beginning (New Moon) directly connected to a surprise ending.

Results may deliver an abrupt wake-up call, and this will push you into some deep, insightful territory. Remembering that Uranus in Taurus is the disruption of limiting habits, outdated sources of income or unproductive approaches to resources, we can assume this will be at the root of your wake-up call.

But rather than propelling you into something that demands action, you will be entering a time of silent stillness. New Moons are times of darkness and the way ahead is not yet fully illuminated. This is emphasized by Scorpio’s secrets and shadows-the surprise that you receive will certainly clarify things, but you’ll have to sit with this for a while and allow events to sink in. The territory that you enter could be uncomfortable, but what you uncover will be powerful. If you’re not sure what to do next, that’s okay.

Adding to the energy of stillness, there is an exact square between Mars in Libra and Saturn in Capricorn. Actions (Mars) will be challenged by limits (Saturn)-the events of this New Moon will bring you to a difficult corner where you’ll have to pause and carefully consider your next action. Don’t try to push past the resistance. Instead, work on rebalancing your efforts as you absorb the powerful revelations of this Moon.

October 26th, 2019: Challenge For The Libra Moon

  • Libra Moon square the Nodes (10°)

  • Libra Moon conjunct Mars (14°)

  • Libra Moon square Saturn in Capricorn (15°)

Aspects from the Moon can be felt as passing influences, but sometimes they are enough to trigger a major issue.

The square to the Capricorn South Node/Cancer North Node highlights a difficult choice between familiar traditions/rules versus unknown but more authentic, emotional situations. The Moon rules the North Node which tells us that this is about balancing (Libra) your needs against existing rules. Ideally, you want to move forward (towards the NN) but there will be a struggle to maintain that balance. You may be dealing with a relationship or conventional social situation.

As the Moon joins Mars, watch for a sudden flare up of passion, anger or impulse. There will be an urge to act now, and you may be dealing with passive- aggressive behaviour or the need to be polite. And then the Moon runs into a square with Saturn; any momentum that you developed will come to a halt. Saturn is ruler of the SN, so those issues from the past cannot be ignored. Before you move forward, you must deal with someone in authority and temporarily accept that you’ll be on your own. Despite the poke from Mars, this is not the time to let your feelings run wild. Restraint, maturity and focus on the endgame (the NN) are your goals.

It takes a certain type of strength to achieve balanced restraint: that’s what’s being asked of you today.

  • Venus in Scorpio sextile Pluto in Capricorn (20°)

  • Jupiter in Sagittarius conjunct Ceres (22°)

Venus in Pluto-ruled Scorpio, in harmonious aspect to Pluto, is given an extra boost of quiet power. Here we have deeply private or subterranean wants, resources or values that are intensified by the breakdown and transformation of structures. This sounds dramatic, and it is! But Scorpio’s hidden nature and the gentle energy of this aspect ensure that events will happen imperceptibly but potently. It doesn’t have to be loud to be effective.

Excellent for confirming that you’re on the right track as you deepen a source of intimacy, self-care or inner exploration.

Jupiter/Ceres indicates expansive nurturing and/or an expansive agreement. Looking at the Ceres myth, this crop goddess’ daughter was taken by the king of the underworld (Pluto) and in retaliation she allowed all the crops to wither and the people to starve. Jupiter stepped in and encouraged her to make a deal with Pluto-her daughter was allowed to be with her, above ground, for part of the year and the crops would grow during this time.

Not everything she wanted, but a crucial part (rebirth) of her cycle and certainly better than nothing. Consider how a real- world version of this deal might be functioning in your life. You probably won’t get everything you want, but a conjunction with Jupiter in the sign he rules is the best possible scenario-the growth of something new, something to look forward to, something that will continue to expand.

We must also consider how the Venus/Pluto aspect factors into this: even with the gentle sextile, there’s an all-or nothing vibe that will have to be toned down due to circumstances (Pluto didn’t get everything he wanted either). Nonetheless, today’s overall vibe is abundance.

In mundane matters, this aspect can indicate increased learning/wisdom concerning mothering, food issues or nurturing. Consider where you might need to make concessions in these matters to encourage new growth.

October 24th, 2019: Black Moon Lilith And Venus

Jean-François Portaels

  • Venus in Scorpio trine Black Moon Lilith in Pisces (19°)

  • Moon in Virgo opposite Black Moon Lilith in Pisces (19°)

It’s always nice when Venus and BML harmonize because that indicates a flow between the more typical expressions of  female energy (Venus is about relating) and the atypical, outsider expressions of “dangerous” female sexuality.

Venus in Scorpio is about relating on the deepest possible level. The commitment to intimacy and authenticity is total. Or, perhaps you’re delving into your own hidden resources/taboos. Either way, it’s about being nakedly honest.

But that doesn’t mean everything is on display, because Venus in Scorpio is very private. This supports expressions of sexual energy that are outside the bounds of convention. BML in Pisces is the witch, because she transcends what’s real and defined. Today’s aspect says that she draws her power from your deepest awareness of what you want, love and value. This may be a very private development for yourself, or between you and another.

What’s interesting is that the Moon (Lilith’s opposite) is actually opposing BML from Virgo. This highlights the contrast between the “virginal” mothering/nurturing figure who serves versus the one who serves only herself. It reminds us that BML is not here to make us feel comfortable. The Moon’s opposition may emphasize a choice that you have to make, or tension between two types of women.

Venus is the harmonious, connecting facto; get honest and look at the shadow issues behind mothering, fixing and virgin/whore projections. Who is considered pure and impure, and are these descriptions even valid?

No one said Venus in Scorpio delivered the good stuff easily.
