How To Use Fixed Stars

How does one use fixed stars in the birthchart? There are two methods nowadays. 1) The fixed stars longitude method on the ecliptic or 2) The visual astrology of parans. The ecliptic is the path the Sun takes to travel around the earth, and it comprises the 360 degrees of the zodiac. The use of fixed stars in astrology goes back thousands of years, but since many of the important books were probably burnt in the fire of the great library in Alexandra we will never really know how fixed stars in astrology were really used astrologically as opposed to astronomically.

Asteroid Artemis

Asteroid Artemis by Darkstar Astrology. Artemis is the Greek goddess of hunting, forests, mountains and animals. She is depicted as a young maiden with an archer’s bow and sometimes a crescent moon. Antares

Antares is the alpha star in constellation Scorpio. It is literally found in the heart of the scorpion at 9 degrees 47′ Sagittarius. Fixed star Antares is said to represent one of the important four Archangels Oriel, the watcher of the west. Befitting its lofty angelic status, Antares also looks awesome, a flaming red binary star that occasionally glimmers emerald from its tiny green sibling.
