\"\"Love, like astrology, is pretty complicated. We all crave the sweetness of someone who cares about us. But even though we all have an idea of what love means to us, and no matter how powerful love may be, it doesn’t exist in a vacuum. You are a complicated person with a complicated past… even if you think you’re pretty straightforward. The same will naturally hold true for any other human being you end up in love with. Affection and goodwill and hoping for the best are all great, but sometimes it doesn’t work out. Likewise, this week’s astrology as it pertains to love and romance would normally be a good thing, but there is one astrological event sitting like a lump in the middle of it, casting a shadow over this week and the months to come.<\/p>\n

When it comes to love and astrology, we usually look at Venus first, and Venus is having what normally would be a pretty good week. Venus opposite Neptune<\/b>, which is exact on Tuesday, would normally make for a time where your Love Drive might be a bit impractical, but at least it would tend to err on the side of optimism. And just to give things a little extra punch, Venus trine Pluto<\/b> on Friday would normally be a time when I would be telling you all about how truly powerful love can be.<\/p>\n

But then there’s that damned Lunar Eclipse<\/b> on Friday.<\/p>\n

Normally it isn’t within the purview of a weekly horoscope to talk in detail about an Eclipse. But we need to talk about this one. The July 27th Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius also happens to be closely conjunct Mars.<\/b> That Mars\/South node conjunction that has been going on for a couple of weeks already has made it all too easy to fall into the traps that your past has set for you. Have you noticed the number of people fighting with their exes lately? Have you noticed people projecting their past pain onto inappropriate targets? Yeah, me too. And this Eclipse is going to bring all of that to a head.<\/p>\n

But if you stuck around and read my work long enough, you’ll realize I’m pretty good at spotting the good news within the bad. The Sun, Moon, Mars, and Nodes for this Eclipse all positively aspect Chiron.<\/b> In some ways, Chiron is the greatest teacher of the zodiac, in that it exposes us to the deepest wounds we have. But with all those positive aspects going on, we may now hopefully learn a thing or two about ourselves and others, when not to hurt someone else, when not to dwell on our own pain, when not to project our difficult pasts onto others.<\/p>\n
