The first major event of the week is late Monday\/early Tuesday when Mercury enters Libra<\/b>. Mercury is the planet that rules your mind, your plans, and your communications, and Libra puts an interesting spin on those functions. This could be a good time to write a love letter or plan a romantic date, but your logical faculties might get a little blurry. Sometimes the need to express yourself clearly and effectively will get bogged down in the details of how to say things nicely.<\/p>\n

On Friday evening, Venus enters Virgo<\/b>. Virgo isn’t the most comfortable placement for Venus. It’s a sign that has more of a reputation for thinking things through patiently rather then mooning over a loved one. Now of course, love tempered by intelligence isn’t a bad thing. But let’s be honest here: Nobody ever wrote a Harlequin romance that was 200 pages of cautious deliberation followed by a logically organized wedding. So maybe Venus in Virgo is better for thinking about love than actually doing it.<\/p>\n

So given that Mercury is vital for communicating your wants and needs to loved ones, and that Venus is the “love planet,” how do these two placements put together add up to good news for expressing your needs and getting them met? Most of the month, Mercury and Venus will be in what’s called a “mutual reception.”<\/b> Mercury is in a sign ruled by Venus, and Venus is in a sign ruled by Mercury. If you lived in an apartment building that was owned by someone who lived in an apartment building you<\/i> owned, just imagine the deals on rent you could cut each other! A mutual reception is a little like that: Both planets benefit from the arrangement.<\/p>\n

In other words: even though there are some crazy things going on out there, like the Saturn-Uranus quincunx still making trouble and the Uranus-Pluto square that is still a long way from over, September is giving us an opportunity to play nice with each other, express our needs wisely, and have them heard by others… and it all kicks in just in time for the dating scene on the weekend.<\/p>\n

And speaking of dating: if you are looking to generate a good time with a certain someone and\/or with a group of friends, Saturday gives you the opportunity. Moon in Aquarius is both opposite Jupiter and sextile Uranus that day.
