Ceres, Juno, Vesta, Pallas…and the point, the Black Moon Lilith…are the focus of the upcoming course on The Dark Goddess.\u00a0 Classes begin the week of July 7th.<\/p>\n

Part One of the course, “The Dark Goddess: Life, Death and the Embodiment of Spirit”\u00a0 (or “Sex, Death and the Whole Damn Thing) is scheduling now.\u00a0 There are\u00a0very few\u00a0spaces available, so if you are interested please get in touch with me (alcuin9@gmail.com) asap.<\/p>\n

It has become clear over the course of the past couple of decades that the four major asteroids, plus BML (Black Moon Lilith) are providing crucially important information in the natal chart, particularly in the way that we relate\u00a0 to the material world.\u00a0 Whether we are male or female, the asteroids provide us with an overview of the journey to maturity, and the difficulties we may encounter along the road to wisdom.\u00a0 They inform us about the use of power and describe the abuses we may suffer regarding our sense of power in the world.\u00a0 Through them, we learn to embrace feminine wisdom– the wisdom and power which comes from accepting and embracing life.\u00a0 These goddesses reign over life and death, sex and creativity, joy and rage;\u00a0 if we respect them and focus on what they are trying to teach us, they show us how to to remake the world according to our own vision.\u00a0\u00a0 Whether we feel creatively empowered or abandoned in maturity depends on our understanding of these asteroids and their role in the chart.\u00a0 Through them, we discover our own magic, and the magic inherent in the world.<\/p>\n

Part One of the course consists of five lessons.\u00a0 In each one we will discuss an aspect of the Dark Goddess and relate it to the study of the relevant asteroid. In addition to exploring the meaning of the asteroids in the chart, we will touch on the topics of the Matriarchy and the Patriarchy (and what may follow), the fear and repression of the feminine and the integration of the masculine and feminine halves of the psyche.\u00a0 We will see through chart illustrations how the asteroids play a crucial part in this integration. While the asteroids are central to psychological wholeness, by transit and progression they also reveal a ruthlessness in getting their agenda across which can leave us breathless.\u00a0 Far from always being the benign and wise goddesses, the asteroids can cause us to face both the beauty and the horror of life.\u00a0 Each one relates to one of the elements and behaves as an elemental force.<\/p>\n

The classes will be taught in the following order, though they may be subject to change.<\/p>\n

Lesson One:<\/p>\n

An Overview on the Role of the Asteroids<\/p>\n

Cutting through Materialistic Determinism:\u00a0 Pallas and the Creative Intellect<\/p>\n

Lesson Two:<\/p>\n

Vesta:\u00a0 Driven Toward the Sacred<\/p>\n

Lesson Three:<\/p>\n

Juno:\u00a0 Oh, Grow Up!\u00a0 (And Find ‘Other’ Within)–Juno and the fight for equality and equilibrium.<\/p>\n

Lesson Four:<\/p>\n

Ceres:\u00a0 The Scythe and the The Torch, The\u00a0Crossroads of\u00a0Birth and Death<\/p>\n

Lesson Five:<\/p>\n

The Black Moon Lilith:\u00a0 Sex, Madness, Destruction, and Rage–Or the Seat of Creative Power?<\/p>\n

We will begin scheduling classes beginning next week. Part one of the class will
\nrun five sessions, until mid-August. \u00a0Part one is a pre-requisite for part two, but
\nit isn’t\u00a0necessary to take part two.\u00a0 (Though you will miss the juiciest, most scandalous and\u00a0surprising part of the course.)<\/p>\n

Part Two will also consist of five classes, and these will be exclusively a
\ndiscussion of the asteroids and BML in synastry.\u00a0 Part Two will take place in September, after Progressions Two.<\/p>\n

For Part One of the course, the classes will run about an hour and fifteen minutes.\u00a0 The
\nfee for the five classes is $225.\u00a0 Payment will be due by June 29th.<\/p>\n

Part Two will take more complicated analysis: the classes will run slightly longer and
\nwill be $275 for the five. \u00a0The fee for Part One of the course will confirm your place in the class.<\/p>\n

As each part consists of only five classes, I would appreciate it if you
\ncould pay the full fee for each part at once, but if you can’t, $125 will be due
\non signing for Part One and $100 will be due before lesson three.\u00a0\u00a0Payment for Part Two can be split in a similar way.\u00a0\u00a0As usual, fees are payable via Paypal.com to
\nmy\u00a0 email address:\u00a0 alcuin9@gmail.com.<\/p>\n

Like all of my classes, these classes will be taught one to one over the phone.\u00a0 The lessons will be recorded and an mp3 will be sent to you right after the session.\u00a0 If you live outside of the U.S. or Canada, you will need to use Skype or have the number of a landline you can use for the sessions.\u00a0 We will\u00a0occasionally use\u00a0our own natal charts\u00a0but most\u00a0charts I will provide.\u00a0 You will be sent reading material, folders of charts and sometimes worksheets before each class.<\/p>\n

And again, I’m afraid I have to reinforce my policy regarding missed classes.\u00a0 If you have to miss a class for any reason, you will be given a recording of another student’s session and will have the opportunity to go over any questions the following week, or via email if you prefer.\u00a0 This has become a necessity due to the number of missed classes, with previous five week courses dragging on for months.\u00a0 Classes will be taught between noon and 4:30 pm Eastern time.\u00a0 When you are asked to schedule, please pick a time slot where you can be consistently available.<\/p>\n

As I said earlier, there are only a few slots\u00a0in the course\u00a0and others have already declared an interest, \u00a0so if you are sure you are\u00a0in for the class\u00a0please let me know right away.\u00a0 I look forward to exploring this new territory with you.<\/p>\n
