After a very lengthy dip in Scorpio’s waters, Venus is ready to dry herself off and warm up in front of the hearth provided by fiery Sagittarius. If, over these past few months, you were focused on – maybe even obsessing over – intimacy and passion, or death and new life, or even how to make the most of your money, you were experiencing Venus’ call from Scorpio.

And now, what to do with all of the answers you’ve come up with? Venus’ entry into Sagittarius signals a time to take your values and test them out in the ‘real’ world, instead of pondering them in the privacy of your mind. At the very least, you may find yourself pondering these things out loud, whether in classrooms or social gatherings. Ironic, though isn’t it? It’s said that you should never discuss religion or politics at a dinner party – but avoiding those topics may be pretty tough this month.

Sagittarius is a worldly energy; it brings you into greater self-awareness by prompting you to study or travel or to debate topics – especially those pertaining to ethics, religion, philosophy, current events, politics or the law. Venus in Sagittarius brings out the teacher/preacher/rhetoric in all of us. Depending on how you react to others’ opinions (which are likely to be stated quite strongly), this is either lots of fun (brain sex -whoopee!) or merely yawn-inducing. But this is one way we go about exploring how our beliefs fit in (or not) with others’.

Because Venus points to not only our values, but romantic tastes as well, take note of what really attracts you over the next four weeks. You may well find that size really does matter – the size of the intellect, that is. Intelligence can’t be measured in cup sizes or inches but, when Venus is in broad-minded Sagittarius, you get a feel for someone, according to what they believe in, their world-view, their politics, and even the places they’ve traveled to.

The question behind Venus’ stay in Sagittarius is what do you stand for? This is what she urges us to clarify for ourselves as well as others. And if you haven’t worked that out yet, then allow yourself to be drawn into self-inquiry through dialogue with people. That should push a few buttons that alert you to what really matters most to you. If you’ve been thinking of learning a new language, attending a class or even introducing yourself to that intriguing stranger from afar, Venus is smiling, so embrace the adventure!

Artwork courtesy of Wikimedia Commons After a very lengthy dip in Scorpio’s waters, Venus is ready to dry herself off and warm up in front of the hearth provided by fiery Sagittarius.
