\"sun<\/a>I don\u2019t know about you, but this summer\u2019s grand water trine (Saturn in Scorpio, Neptune in Pisces, Jupiter in Cancer) has brought me much needed reprieve from the gnashing and grinding of the Uranus-Pluto square. After any war, a lady needs to rest. With my sister\u2019s baby now birthed and fully, happily in the world, and my decision to relax, enjoy life and finally take a real summer, life has been a lot lighter around here. Instead of rushing into a new project, pursuit or passion, I\u2019m recharging. For a Cancer Sun sign born whose high work is to listen and respond to the feeling needs of the body and Spirit, it feels like the right choice.<\/p>\n

With my more relaxed attitude towards my self and life, I\u2019ve also been more open to the simple pleasures of the season: loving the warmth of the Sun on my body, sneaking off for a swim in a \u201cno swimming\u201d lake, luxuriating in the strength of my body on days I feel strong enough to do a big hike, the forbidden pleasure of romance novel reading, sleeping in late on my sensuous new linen sheets, eating blueberries. Daily. Lately, years of divine discontent have given way to letting go; I’ve lost my taste for struggle. I want to follow my heart…<\/span><\/p>\n

Funny thing about the heart: I’ve noticed that the heart doesn\u2019t care whether I\u2019m on Twitter, Pinterest, or how my marketing department is doing. The heart doesn\u2019t need to \u201ckeep up\u201d. The only audience the heart ever needs is the other heart(s) it connects with when it\u2019s happily humming along, creating, walking, gardening, playing, dancing, being. Being myself, following my flow, is marvelously conducive to connecting with the right folks. Be they one or a million, when we’re living in our light, the right people somehow always find us.<\/p>\n

The Sun and Moon are in Leo, invigorating the Divine Child in all of us. As a child, John Lennon was asked what he wanted to be when he grew up. \u201cHappy,\u201d was his answer, which his grade school teacher found unacceptable. Fortunately for all of us, he was a stubborn lad. Just look at the life John created by following his wish to be… Happy. We all know what made him happy: music, performing, creating. By following his happiness, John Lennon found his calling. That’s all he did! And so it is with us.<\/p>\n

This Leo New Moon gives us all a new chance to follow our hearts, to make the deliberate and conscious choice to follow our happiness. What makes you happy? What lights you up?<\/strong> We are all in different seasons of life; you may or may not know this answer. With Uranus in Aries trine this New Moon, courageous adventuring is in order. We can find our calling and place by noodling around with things that…make us heart happy. One friend I know, a composer who now works in the tech industry has forgotten what it feels like to be lit up and inspired. I asked him what his perfect day would be and without hesitation he replied that he\u2019d stroll Telegraph Avenue, visiting rare record stores. Another friend who recently retired from a lifelong career and is at loose ends, on a lark courageously signed up for a weeklong retreat that intrigued one of her core passions: genealogy. She said, \u201cI am trepidatious about groups, but when I read the marketing, I had this eerie knowing pass over me that it was written just for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

It takes courage to step outside the restrictive lines we’ve drawn for our selves; it takes courage to feed the heart. Can you commit to feeding your heart?\u00a0If so, what will you noodle with at this New Moon?\u00a0\u00a0To coax your Divine Child out of hiding, you may need to say sayonara to The Adult<\/em>: the one too preoccupied by survival fears, money, career etc. to listen to the knowing whims of the heart child. Woody Harrelson said, “Grownups are just kids with layers on.” This new moon, the time is right to peel those layers off.<\/p>\n
