Seashell themes are a budding trend in fashion accessories. From mass market brands to high-end designers, the shell shapes and actual shells are getting a turn in the en vogue spotlight. The trend isn’t yet rampant, but it’s firm enough to call it. In handbags the scallop seems to be the favorite shape, while jewelry trends seem to favor the conch shell. <\/p>\n

The planet is at home in the 12th sign of the zodiac – the realm of water & spirit. Accordingly, the sea god will be bring us all back to thoughts of the water, both figuratively, literally, and graphically! The last time the scallop shape was widely popular in design culture was in the Art Deco era of the 1920s & ’30s. And if you’re like me, you struggle with reconciling a love for things like fashion with a deep yearning for a life that is meaningful beyond material things. A good friend of mine did a reading for me that was very assuring and let me know that appreciating the material experience on Earth doesn’t mean forfeiting your spiritual life. I like how one of my favorite video astrologer’s Nadiya Shah put it:<\/p>\n Spirituality isn\u2019t simply about the rejection of materialism. It\u2019s about understanding materialism as part of the earthly experience, thereby keeping it in its rightful place, one not taking precedence over the other. With Pluto showing us the dark side of materialism in Capricorn, the caution with Neptune in Pisces is that we may think we have to choose one over the other. While these planets are in harmony, chances are good we are not likely to get carried too far in either direction.
