Here we go again with another Mercury retrograde phase between now and December 30. Just in time to for the holidays. Now personally, I think Mercury wretch-rograde gets a bad rap, and is blamed for everything from stalled cars to missing hairpins. Had I known of this phenomenon as a child, no doubt Mercury retrograde would have been my first scapegoat whenever a homework assignment was incomplete. <\/p>\n
Having said that, there does seem to be a higher than usual volume of communication and electronic snafus whenever the little messenger starts back-tracking through the zodiac. If you\u2019re traveling over the holidays, whether by plane, train or automobile you\u2019d be wise to give yourself extra time to reach your destination. Other than that, signing contracts is usually considered a no-no while Mercury is retrograde, unless that contract is between you and someone with whom you\u2019ve already done business before. Buying electronics during Mercury retrograde is probably the biggest oops there is. Hold off until January, and you\u2019ll be much better off. <\/p>\n
What I do appreciate about Mercury retrograde transits is a little extra breathing space. The pace of life seems to slow down. Appointments get postponed (or forgotten altogether). This can be a nuisance but, on the other hand, it buys a little time out for body, mind and soul. If catching a few extra zz\u2019s aren\u2019t enticing enough, consider some of the other benefits that Mercury retrograde brings: the opportunity for re-writes, research, re-watching your fave holiday movies, reviewing your budget, re-connecting with people whom you haven\u2019t seen in ages\u2026pretty much anything that begins with the prefix re. <\/p>\n
Essentially this is a time when meanings and messages from before reverberate in a new way, affording you a different angle from which to perceive certain elements of your life. When Mercury returns to direct motion in January, whatever you\u2019ve been seeking greater clarity about will emerge as an answer to the question. Blessings to you, in the meantime.<\/p>\n
