\ufeff\ufeffMercury, planet of communication, has moved into the sign of Capricorn where he will stay for eleven days before retrograding back into Sagittarius. We\u2019re already in the shadow of Mercury\u2019s three-week long retrograde phase, so you may notice a preponderance of communication glitches for the duration of the month. While it\u2019s wise to allow extra time for commuting, and to double-check the details of appointments, there\u2019s no need to let your life come to a grinding halt, regardless of what you\u2019ve heard about Mercury\u2019s infamous retrograde transits. <\/p>\n

There\u2019s some cosmic symmetry at play on Wednesday, for Saturn – ruler of Capricorn (and hence Mercury\u2019s de facto boss for now) – is joined by the Moon in Libra. So there\u2019s a strong Saturn-Capricorn theme kicking off this Mercury transit. It\u2019s as if the Moon has intentionally timed her monthly sojourn with Saturn in order to kick-start Mercury\u2019s annual stay in Capricorn. There\u2019s a pressing need to align feelings, minds, and bodies. Pragmatic concerns move to the fore as well, and we become more aware of the passage of time. This is intensified by Mercury\u2019s conjunction with Pluto and the North Node over the next several days. It seems we are all moving towards greater emotional maturity, whilst taking our places on the world stage. And the world is as big or as small as you decree. <\/p>\n

But just in case you\u2019re not on the track you\u2019d like to be on, Mercury retrograde offers the timely opportunity to re-think your goals for the coming new year \u2013 and his sextile over these next few days with Venus and Chiron offers extra support.
