The very fabric of Life is stitched from Love. And pretty much everything you do—from shopping, to arguing, to getting it on—is an attempt to reconnect with that true source of all. Everything is a call for love—and this week, the call is huge, lovers. Yet we\u2019re attached to personal stories that prevent us from fully giving or receiving what we desire.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s possible you\u2019ll encounter someone whose cry for love is so loud that you fear being engulfed by their pit of longing. Or maybe you respond by jumping in and offering whatever you can. Either way, it helps to know what triggers you; is it guilt, obligation, fear of being perceived as heartless? Or are you moved by a genuine sense of compassion? This is not a test and there\u2019s no wrong answer. But getting honest with yourself at least gives you permission to behave in genuine accordance with yourself.<\/p>\n
Regardless of the choices you make, let Love steer you. Even a decision to back off from someone who\u2019s asking more of you than you can deliver can be done from a place of compassion and respect. And those of you who gravitate towards people who “need a fix” would do well to differentiate between being present versus smothering.<\/p>\n
It comes down to this: what do you expect of yourself in your relationships? Define it; make a map, boundaries and all. Then stick to the plan. If you don\u2019t hold yourself accountable, who will?<\/p>\n
