\"\" We are currently in the thick of it with Mercury retrograde<\/strong>, as the zodiac’s messenger travels backward through the early degrees of Libra. If you haven’t reached the point yet that so many of us traditionally do \u2014 that is, screaming and tearing your hair out over Mercury retrograde \u2014 this might in fact be the week you start doing so.<\/p>\n

But is it really all Mercury’s fault? When it comes to relationships, we naturally look to Venus for the sweetness and light part. Venus is passing through Virgo \u2014 which is a gentle enough placement \u2014 but it’s often considered to be debilitated. And it certainly doesn’t help that Virgo is ruled by Mercury and Mercury is, as previously discussed, headed the wrong way.<\/p>\n

When it comes to the more sexual side of relationships, that’s where Mars comes in. Yes, Mars is still in Gemini. Yes, Mars is going to be there a very long time and yes, that means that Mars too is being ruled by that wacky, messed-up Mercury.<\/p>\n

Maybe what you’re interested in are committed partnerships. For that, we look to Jupiter and… oh, darn, Jupiter is retrograde<\/strong>, too. Maybe we want to build some structure and order in our lives? That would involve looking at Saturn. Yes, Saturn is retrograde<\/strong>, too. And it’s still within square range of the also retrograde Uranus.<\/p>\n

So: if you are particularly afraid of retrogrades, you might think that this is the week to simply hide under your bed and do nothing and speak to no one.<\/p>\n

Good news, though: there is a hidden variable in this mess that could actually make it quite beneficial. Although both Mercury and Venus are retrograde, Mercury is in the sign that Venus rules\u2026 and Venus is in the sign that Mercury rules. Put that together and you have what’s called a “mutual reception.” That means that even under relatively funky aspects, Mercury and Venus can actually lend each other a hand. So at this time, it might be an excellent idea to open up communications and make peace with a friend or a loved one, or open up your laptop and join a dating site.<\/p>\n

There are some very valuable opportunities hidden in all this mess. Or, you know, go ahead and blame everything on Mercury retrograde anyway. That’s what I’m doing. If any of you are looking, I’ll be hiding under the bed this week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
