I\u2019ve learned to forgive myself<\/em><\/p>\n For the ways I haven\u2019t showed up for me<\/p>\n For the times I\u2019ve overlooked and ignored the nagging feeling, the nausea, the disappointment<\/p>\n For all of the times that I didn\u2019t make the time to feel – to process, to become more aware of, to honor my feelings<\/p>\n For all of the times I misinterpreted what I was really feeling<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I\u2019ve learned to forgive myself<\/em><\/p>\n For all of the stories I\u2019ve ever told myself, wholly believed, and then suffered<\/p>\n For jumping to conclusions, not slowing down to question my perceptions<\/p>\n For overlaying my mind\u2019s story of the moment onto the energy of the moment<\/p>\n For the thought: there is no other way than this\u2026 then slowly walking toward misery<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I\u2019ve learned to forgive myself<\/em><\/p>\n For the limits I\u2019ve placed on my possibilities (because I once thought I had so few)<\/p>\n For the belief: I must be doing something wrong (otherwise, I wouldn\u2019t feel this badly), and the energy that belief set into motion<\/p>\n For creating an identity out of pain, turning it into \u201cMY suffering\u201d<\/p>\n For all of the times I made myself sit through discomfort, stay, instead of just. standing. up; instead of walking away<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I\u2019ve learned to forgive myself<\/em><\/p>\n For being so hard on myself, so exacting, self-critical<\/p>\n For having high and unreasonable expectations, along with the accompanying certainty I would fail<\/p>\n For the relentless, miserable, insecurity; so much self-questioning, so much self-doubt<\/p>\n For this is what I learned from the energies I was exposed to, ancestral energy I was born into<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I\u2019ve learned to forgive myself<\/em><\/p>\n Let myself off the hook, to not be perfect<\/p>\n When I feel intense discomfort from making a choice that is not quite right for me<\/p>\n When I am dismissive of the still small voice of wisdom, and do the other thing anyway<\/p>\n When I misinterpret what I feel, and run with a false perception of reality<\/p>\n I am no longer harsh, or unkind<\/p>\n I feel the consequences of my misstep, but I no longer suffer from it<\/p>\n …No longer believing in mistakes, in right or wrong, spiritual lessons, karma, or comeuppance of any form…<\/em><\/p>\n I can find light within the shadows<\/p>\n I can find the dance within the sad song<\/p>\n I can bring myself back home, back to Truth<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I\u2019ve learned to forgive myself –quickly<\/em><\/p>\n Then, do it again<\/p>\n To patiently take a few moments to feel what is real for me right now<\/p>\n To say, \u201cI\u2019m sorry. I understand. You are learning, living, in a world of constant change and distraction.
